The first season was good enough. This is one of the better Amazon shows.

It is, until it ain't. The last season of The Boys certainly didn't fill me with confidence. Characters made non-sensical choices that were pushing what was logical for their character and/or powers from previous seasons. The need to try to top some sexual gore fetish they have by raping Hughie was ridiculous and basically the final straw for that show, for me.

That's around the time of Witchblade and The Darkness, right? I just remember seeing the Gen 13 comic in the store but never picking one up.
Close. Witchblade came out shortly after. Darkness was a character that originally started in Witchblade. You're pretty accurate, though. The difference is only 2-3 years tops. The original Gen 13 miniseries was only a few books, then it went on a delay until they started doing a monthly series. The monthly was around the time of Witchblade.

Yeah the only image comic I was hell bent on was Spawn. And then I guess Mark Sylvestri, if I'm remembering that right, started doing the witchblade and darkness stuff, and I think I've got maybe the first few years of each. Just remember seeing gen 13 on the racks, but never picked it up.

I don't know how many hours we used to spend in our little comic book store in Brenham, and it was literally just a little room, just picking up comics or playing MTG and BSing about school.

I stopped collecting when the man who ran the store passed away during my sophomore year of college, but I would always swing by when I was visiting my folks and still picking up my typical line up when he was alive.

I was a hardcore comic person from probably middle school until right around when I got married. So many comics. They're all bagged and boarded, but I just have boxes of them somewhere. I think they're at my mom's house now.
