I'm just catching up on this thread but I can't understand this take. They're clearly talking about the fact that there hasn't been a bond game in 30 plus years. They didn't say anything about diversity and inclusion. That video was focused on high level design and some details about the tech. Literally one second showing a black person, when every other character looked to be white, is enough to trigger you guys?
Yes. I want these game dev fuckers walking on eggshells.

It’s more the “new audience” line for me. That line has been used so many times to mean blue haired baristas and “this game was never made for you” type nonsense. I disagree that its 'clearly talking about 2026 audience.' James Bonds' audience is ever present as one of the largest IPs in the world. The average age of a gamer is 35-years-old. We grew up with Golden Eye. We grew up with Bosnan and Craig as our Bonds. The 'new audience' means 'modern audience' which means, honestly, people that don't buy video games.

AAA companies have lost ALL good will and faith from gamers.

EDIT : meant to post this in the dedicated Nintendo Switch thread, sorry about the double post here and there, but I guess it's Gaming News.

Nintendo Direct Partners today :

Nothing mind-blowing, the usual shovelful of animé games and JRPGs, but some cool ports onto Switch 2 such as

- Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (Switch 2)
- Fallout 4 Remastered (Switch 2)
- Oblivion Remastered (Switch 2)

A few of the indie games shown look okay to cool but nothing that screamed "Must buy" for me, plus I tend to prefer games that get a physical release personally.

They're also releasing Hollow Knight Remastered with smoother framerate and "improved graphics" so I guess that's cool for people who missed out on the first version.

The new Turok game (Turok Origins) looks pretty interesting, it looks like a mix between Turok lore and Monster Hunter, you can play solo or with a team and you are against both dinosaur-looking monsters and alien invaders (so sounds just like classic Turok), with a kind of upgrade system to your armor and weapons to give them new abilities based on the DNA you pick up from flora and fauna.

Did you miss the actual statement that got people riled up? It had nothing to do with "showing a black person", it was the dude saying that "old school Bond would be tone deaf in this day" so they have to give him "modern values".
