I played Rogue Trader the past few weeks. Great game and a fine addition to CRPGs. It did have glaring problems with the engine, quest triggering (such as missing swathes of quests because of out of sequence failures), combat breaking, and numerous other problems. Something kind of common with Owlcat games but I digress. Still a great game and I recommend everyone play it if you like CRPG and especially if you like 40k.
Now, I recently fired up BG1 to play through 1 and 2 again and dick around with editing mods. It stuns me how clean the gameplay is. Despite being 30 years old it consumes less than literally any phone app you can imagine, even one from 15 years ago. It does this and calculates Advanced DND Ruleset (the most autistic one) in real time with zero latency or lagging issues.
Game enshittification has really become this bad? BG1 and BG2 more importantly have no issues with quest triggering and handle all of them throughout the entire game with some degree of elegance. BG2 famously had game AI so good they had to castrate it for release. As with mods you can have enemies rapidly using the whole slew of Contingency and Spell Triggers to make fights really insane and dynamic. All done in real time with pause gameplay.

Intriguing art style and theme, I dig it. Not sure rogue-like is the best framework, but who knows.

I remember watching a show with my wife (She loves that Married at First sight show) and all of a sudden I got a pop up on the screen "Would you like to order the outfit they have on?" I was .. "WHAT THE FUCK?" and got to turning off some of that shit immediately. Too bad I couldn't block married at first sight too.

Ok here is a pro tip: get the show for your wife, don't watch it with her.
I had a razor mouse that would use the USB dongle to download the proprietary mouse driver from their website without asking permission. I say had because after it happened the 1st time I sent it back. I bought it for my work laptop where we're (by company policy) not even supposed to use our own mice. I didn't need that drama.
Not sure how this shit is legal.

The craziest one ive seen so far is an ai salesman that texts you after you looked at something asking why you didn't buy something and tried pressuring you to buy something.
Seems like these companies are trying to commit suicide.

Its more of a rhetorical question. The reason is the lack of engineering chops. You needed to be very cognizant of memory management and lean programming because systems had far less resources. Now that resources are much less of an issue you can yolo everything. But after doing that for 20 years it does come with its own host of issues. Modern design principles and how most engineers learn these things just doesn't focus on that much anymore unless you are in a role that strictly requires it, like embedded engineering.
