I started that on Apple II.
Import to France did cost a fortune. Ultima III was priced at around 150$ at the time (1983). Not inflation adjusted, 150$ of then-dollar. But at least it did have a nice cloth map.

Man, getting an Ultima back then was an experience. Pretty much every Origin Systems release was quality.

Dude, I don't know how many hours I sunk into Ultima: Pagan but that was mine and one of my best friends favorite games for eons until UO came out in what 97 maybe.
You could see the bones for that game coming from pagan.
I still look back and think of all the SSI games that I used to get, especially when Sam's wholesale used to do giant box bundles that you get for like $10, and it was all the good stuff. Stone prophet, the Dark Sun games, there was just so much good stuff. And if somebody else bought a copy you were installing it on your computer after you borrowed the floppy disks at school.
