Voice actors, lol. the type of games that even need voice actors are generally feminine goy slop, with a few notable exceptions. Imagine playing Elden Ring or Cyberpunk and then looking up, and committing to memory, whoever the fuck did the voice work. Same type of soy infused man child that collects funko pops. Shit is as gay as a fucking Oscar watching party.

Lmao I hope they isn’t allowed to lend theys voice to the project anymore or gets theys membership revoked. It also goes against kickstarter terms of service offering something as a stretch goal that’s already included. Would be hilarious if the campaign got yoinked too.

"voice actors", lmfao. The fact that they got you calling them that in a non-sarcastic way, I think that gives them the edge. But it remains a hard decision.

Yes they are using their voice to act. There are varying degrees of this talent. In order to distinguish which ones are good and who we want to hear more of, we remember their names. How is this a hard concept to grasp?

The only QTE in games that are acceptable are the "hold X to skip" ones for cutscenes. Ideally, it wouldn't even be a QTE and I could hit start or whatever to get back to blowing things up.

I think my whole point was I really don't give a shit who the person talking is. Obviously a great voice actor enhances and even makes/breaks a game... But I couldn't tell you a single name I actually care about or idolize.

I also don't remember the names. But sometimes I'll look it up during a session. I'll admit it's pretty far down on things I'd get excited for in a kick starter though.

Good voice actors deserve more credit like great "secondary" actors. Sam Rockwall and Bill Paxton were never pushed as leading men like Tom Cruise or Anthony Hopkins, but you definitely knew they made the movie better.

People claim they don't care about voice actors, but they'll be the first ones crying when the voice acting sucked and ruined the thing.

I know when I do audiobooks when I'm traveling for work and what have you, I'm very particular about who narrates the books. I probably skipped out on some books because the narrator sounded horrible when you listen to the sample on audible. But there are some that I will always grab whatever book because they just make it so wonderful.

Todd McLaren for the first two altered carbon books, and even did all of the Conan stories, so wonderful. Guy who did the first law trilogy, and surprisingly the guy who's been narrating most of Stephen King's recent novels, John Patton? He was the villain in the postman with Kevin Costner. He's great in every book I've listened to that he has narrated.

Point being is if you don't care about that sort of stuff you're probably gay. I also think he's just screwing with you guys but maybe he's also just young and retarded, and that's a good kind of retarded. The kind you leave out in a field during the winter...

I think there are only a couple or handful of voice actors I can name off the top of my head and even then, it will require a little Google rather than just saying "that person that did that thing."

Troy Baker is the obvious one. He's just done a gazillion things; his name is ubiquitous with voice acting in video games (he does cartoons I guess too but whatever).
The chick that played the chick in Mass Effect, Jennifer something? I know she was in SW:KOTOR and a hell of a lot of other things like Diablo, Metal Gear, etc...

And that's about my list.. I'm sure there's other but who knows.

Cowboy Bebop is the OG showcase for how good VAs can elevate a project. The US cast was truly exceptional. Most US VAs are utter dogshit.

Jennifer Hale, she's on the list I posted and likely the second biggest reason people played femshep after dyking it up with Liara. Mark Meer (i only remember his name from looking it up multiple times) had almost no experience doing VA work and it showed.
