They can argue, but detailing the ammunition and its capabilities is evidence. Evidence that was never introduced in the trial in any form which means it should be a part of closing statements.
Im no lawyer but Im pretty sure Binger is essentially testifying to the evidence as if hes a court recognized expert which should be a huge no no and easy objection(binger testifying and talking about evidence that was never admitted), if Kyle's lawyer wasnt asleep at the wheel.

as far as why the defense isn't objecting, they did object to a couple things in the beginning (minor points) and the judge cut him off pretty quickly saying he could address it in his closing. so i think he's gunshy about making objections now even when he has strong legal precedence to do so. he basically wasted the few objections he could have made on silly things that just immediately got forgotten.
