Cloverfield was just bad. Been a while but im not sure i was able to finish it. You never even really saw the monster so you shouldnt even compare it to pacific, rim or godzilla

Seriously, dude? You didn't watch the whole movie, yet you claim they never showed the monster? Lol.

I liked that they didn't show the monster for most of the movie. They kept hinting at it, had me wondering the entire movie wtf kind of monster could be doing all this stuff.

Now the shakycam was annoying, as all shakycams are, but the setting, scenes and acting I enjoyed.

Yeah I really liked Cloverfield. It was a nice, different take on the monster movie thing.

Movie came out 6/7 years ago and the only thing i remember was shaky cam and nothing memorable. Did they ever show the monster? I just remember legs and small parasites that lived on it. I didnt know there was people that really liked it, i remember the trailer and everyone freaking out having tons of of questions and wtf bad robot was. Now we know JJ abrams pulls this stupid shit and has created the plague of Lost viewers

God I hope Godzilla beats the shit out of some of the other monsters. I just watched some video and they said they studied how bears actually fight.

Personally, I thought it was a decently average flick, minus the stupid shaky cam gimmick. And, yeah, they show the monster eventually.

Cloverfield wasn't a monster movie in the way that a lot of people were expecting. It was a 'found footage' movie, people who were expecting a big scale disaster porn monster movie, didn't get that and were turned into haters.

It was a movie that put you ( through the use of the one handycam ) into a group of friends who find themselves in the middle of a massive horrific event. So it was about experiencing the event 'on the ground' joined to these people through the whole thing.

I thought it was a really good movie, especially if you hold it up and judge it amongst its peers, ie: found footage movies. Then it is streets ahead.

Cloverfield was good, it put Abrams on the map. that trailer had me a little worried. is Godzilla doing all that damage or is it Rodan and the Mutos doing it? Toho has or had this thing where they want children to like Godzilla so they no longer make him a villain. do they plan on giving godzilla an arc? is he going to start out bad then when the other monsters show up he starts acting good and only fucks them up and occasionally bumps into buildings causing damage , but isnt really trying to hurt anyone?

The damage is from both godzilla and the other monsters, godzilla isn't particularly trying to destroy human stuff but he isn't going out of his way to avoid it either. He has one goal, destroy all monsters.
