The Sons of the Harpy outnumbered them like 4 or 5 to 1.

I was disappointed in the Barristan fight not because he didn't whoop ass, but because the choreography was kinda sad. I get that you are coaching an old man and there are limits what you can do, but it just did not impress.

Also, Tommen looking so nervous isn't acting. He's worried that his boner is showing. That poor kid must be masturbating himself to death between takes. They probably have to film him waist-up half the time.

"Okay in this scene you are laying in bed with Margary after sex and... aw dammit bathroom time AGAIN?"

Once the white walkers come it would pretty much override everything that is going on in the north with Stannis and Bolton and all the misc soap opera stuff at the wall. And then it'd just be another siege unless they have some way to break the magic of the wall, at which point practically all other concerns would be moot because holy shit zombie invasion + no goddamn food = everyone fucked everywhere if we don't forget everything and team up like every goddamn SWTOR/WoW storyline ever.

It's a Song of Ice and Fire but I'm not even sure that we'll ever actually see WW make it past the wall because that just seems like a giant fantasy trope Tolkien ending that GRRM doesn't care for. They are there, but they are contained. I don't think they are meant to be some ultimate threat, despite their appearance in the very first chapter of the series. (which is a strong argument against everything I'm saying) Beyond the wall you just have some dumbasses who see "Here thar be zombies" and think "hey, tax free real estate!"

They've had a fucking long time to find a way to bring down the wall and haven't. Unlike Tolkien, the theme here is old magic renewed by the re-birth of the dragons. Not old magic failing and letting the evil loose and so on.

tl;dr I don't think we're getting half a book of snow zombie invasion Jordan style.

Also, Jon has that Baratheon hair. The seed is strong. Just saying.

Stannis bending the knee to Jon, now that would be a hoot. Melisandre's fire led her to the wrong Baratheon.
In this weeks episode Stannis asks Mel what she needs, and she says "To serve my lord" while staring at Jon Snow. There were also all the little hint convos (for non book viewers) about the parallels between Jon and Azor Ahai when Jon tells Mel he still loves another (dead) woman who he sorta killed. That "You know Nothing" after that was creepy as fuck tho

Unfortunately for all us Stannis the Mannis lovers, the scene between Stannis and his daughter pretty much foreshadows one of them dying. Easy money is on Stannis at Winterfell

It'll setup the Jon/Mel story, move forward Sansa's story, and maybe even bring back the white walker story.

also it looks like the show is setting up Ser Friendzone to be the typhoid mary of grey scale, to add to his long list of things he fucked up

I think the wall stops their Wights from passing it. Not the WW themselves. I mean, if the WW cant pass the wall, you wouldn't need an order (10,000 strong most the time) to guard the stupid thing. The first wight in the book was able to attempt and kill Lord Commander Mormont in Castle Black. So they can clearly animate when they are on the other side of the wall. They just can't personally walk over it (his body was brought for burial). GRRM has said that TWOW will explain a lot of the history of the WW and why they do the shit they do.

But I agree, all-out WW invasion war doesn't seem like GRRM's style. But that, along with the horde of Dothraki, former slaves, unsullied and dragons at Danaerys' back there doesn't seem to be another way of ending it without the trope. Hopefully he can prove us all wrong. Personally, I think the WW will be contained by Stannis and the threat wont make it too far. But just enough that everyone in Westeros realizes how very real the threat was and who stood in the way to stop it why they bitched among themselves.

I never read the books, but I really hated that Barristan got gimped like that.

So disappointing to build up a character for so long just to be killed by some slave owners...

I wanted him to fight one of those dragons at the end to save someone, and die killing one of them.
A fitting death, not that shit we saw last night.

a question about the wights and white walkers. at the wall and beyond they need to burn all the dead because there is a chance of them returning to life. why is that? is it a radius to wights or white walker thing? is it just a north thing? if the WW break through the wall and attack the continent does the dead coming back thing affect the continent?

I imagine its because if you leave a corpse out, or just bury it. The WW can animate it. As seen by the skeletons outside the Children of the Forest's cave.

Neither of them are dead, right? That's why he was speared before he could slit Barristan's throat...

So, when are we gonna see the Night's King again? White walkers in general seem like an afterthought on this show.
Probably never.

Winter is coming. Eventually. I mean it's winter, you know. We have to go through a few cold snaps first, and then an early frost. And then maybe it'll warm back up for a little bit. And global warming fucks the entire process up. But Winter! IS COMING.

The "next time on GoT" showed him and he appeared to be quiet dead.

BTW: The fighting members of the sons of the harpy are likely pitfighters paid by previous slave owners. So it's not so much random white collar dudes as much as it is Crixus and Spartacus up in there.

Sky cells were in the Eyrie, bro.
Yeah I know, which is why I linked a picture of the Vale. I'm just saying that Tyrion will probably be put in a crazy Mereen cell and then have to use his wit to escape it. Bonus points if it involves nearly being eaten by the dragon he'll end up riding.

I generally don't watch the "Next Time on..." stuff. Anyway, that was a pretty crappy way for him to go out if that's the case. Ser Storyteller will be missed.
