Littlefinger is heading back to Kings Landing because Cersei sent for him. Meanwhile High Sparrow is openly defying the King and raiding Litlefingers brothels also on Cersie's at least tacit command.

Seems like the outcome will be a dead High Sparrow very soon with King being in Littlefingers debt.

realistically, i think varys will already be with dany when jorah and tyrion show up. he will tell dany their purpose to advise her and that jorah kidnapped tyrion and then jorah will get the shit end of the stick once again.

Also interesting though is that Littlefinger told Sansa of his plan for her being offered to the Boltons:

"Marry Ramsey. Stannis will surely attack soon. If this happens then do plan A If this other happens do plan B . . . and so on"

I'm off to King's Landing, won't be gone for too long see you soon.

I see a different outcome.

Cersei's plan seems a bit unstable. Its one gigantic bluff because really her position as queen mother gives her nothing. And as time goes by and her son gets older and spends more time plowing Margery Cersei's influence over him will get less and less. I am not really sure what her long term angle is and at this point I am just assuming she has none. Basically its just her ego at this point that's not letting her go quietly off into the night.

It's not out of character at all to me. It's that he's not Pope Francis at all. He may be personally humble and projecting an aura of piety (which may be sincere)... but these are pagan cults. You're still very firmly entrenched in a trial by combat mentality.

I think the mistake might have been with the actor they chose (even though I love that dude. EXECUTE THIS SOLDIER FOR HEROISM! IT IS BAD FOR MORALE!) and the sort of backhanded insinuation that he's Da Pope. He's not. He's more like the Roman Pontif Maximus.

And Cersi has pretty much flipped. She's in full press fuck everything mode. Because the deal she made with pontiff maximus guy... you don't make that deal and expect him to not eventually come for you.

Regarding Tommen, don't forget Highgarden is pretty much run by the women and the men are essentially just figureheads. That was part of the reason Margery's grandmother had Joffrey killed...she knew he couldn't be controlled, so they decided to go with Tommen, who they (correctly) identified would be far easier to control and manage.

I think it said come back to kings landing and kill this whore from highgarden for me.

While she may appear crazed at this point she likely has some unrevealed plot in motion.

The big question in my mind is does she really trust littlefinger? If she does then I think high sparrow is just a lesson in power to her son. Just like Ned Stark took his kids out and cut that guys head off in front of them in the first episode Cersie is putting Tommen in same position of watching Littlefinger kill High Sparrow. We all saw how Cersie reacted to Littlefinger questioning her authority in the past. High Sparrow has now committed a much graver public humiliation upon Tommen.

There is very little choice for King Tommen other then killing High Sparrow at this point. Littlefinger is the most likely choice to arrange that killing for Tommen once he gets back to kings landing. Possible reward for Littlefinger is position of Hand of the King where he would limit Queens Margaerys influence and in Cersie's view increase her own.

Of course if she has figured out Littlefingers is a enemy then that is all out the window except for the part where Tommen still has to have High Sparrow killed.

Also Highgarden is feeding the capital kings landing on credit. Unless queens brother is released very rapidly there may some serious food shortages in kings landing very soon.

I haven't read the books. They're... not that good, fellahs. They're overly verbose in scope, overly clipped in phrasing, and generally purposeless in vision. The show is ok. Ye olde chaine maille. You gotta be a hipster nerd to hate the show. It's no Sparticus, but it's ok.

I am liking this season a lot more than the previous ones.
