No different from Monster Hunter, the flipside is you don't have to be online to play and you can cheat small(or big) things if you want for yourself. I do wish idiots with cheated stats stayed out of online though, it's not like there's any point, shit there's no point in cheating your stats either, like what's the point of just one shotting the bosses, sure you farm faster but you could just cheat the items in instead and that'd be even faster, it's pretty mindboggling some ppl go through that process. Well some enjoy ruining the game for others so these at least make sense.

Finally got around to this and went in with low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised how passable almost all aspects of the game are. Just unlocked extreme difficulty. Been playing Charlotta, Zeta, Siegfried and have like 6 crew cards. I want to try the bow chick, but not sure where to unlock yet. Haven't really hit any wall or grinding yet to beat shit, but I'm sure I'll be looking to min/max when I do.

If someone made this game with more mature aesthetics (most of the character models in relink are terrible even for jrpg) or just have squeenix rip it off and import some Final Fantasy shit I'd play the hell out of it between MH games.

Yeah saw the announcement, added to wishlist. Not sure how much they'll ask for it but if it's too expensive I'll just wait for sale, and if it's decent I'll buy instantly but pretty much buying regardless, really liked the original game so pleased they're doing more of it, just wish they didn't take so long.

All in on this one Brahma Brahma you should check it out, very much a monster hunter loop but in a different shell. REALLY hate a lot of these voices though, so much so I turned all spoken dialogue down to like 10% volume.

It was always super yappy, some of the interactions are funny though but yeah it's a lot of overlapping yelling during combat.

Your little dragon buddy... ugh... lol

Those glowing red stone fights during your story, are they supposed to be 10x harder than the story content you are on? Is it a 'come back later' type encounter?

If you mean the original story, there's a couple that are significantly higher level than the story, although I thought they fixed it in the patch notes. If you mean new content I haven't played yet so can't say, usually they can be done but they're actually challenging unlike the rest of the story(other than the couple in original which were like 30levels higher than intended). Can just come back though.

Pyros Pyros I made the mistake of looking at a character tier list. 3 of the top tiers are those little girls… I refuse to put more than one in my party already using Cagliostro because she seems like a solid support character.

Is this a play what you want game or am I fucked later on unless I give in. Takes a ton of resources to level up characters so hopefully I just play what I find cool.

Edit, I bumped captain to main Vaseraga, aiming for a low life max damage per hit build as his kit seems to lean towards.

Yeah I temporarily tanked the difficulty level for one of the red stone encounters. I can only clear out the timed first spawn events on them when I have the 100% link charge to activate, then when I do clear them out I level like 3 times for each character so I assumed they were just way above my level. I'm also not clear on the fail conditions in a fight. Sometimes your guy can get into critical 'revive me please' mode a few times, or like 10 before the game boots you for being an awful gamer.

Cagliostro is an old man so it's all good. I haven't really looked at a tier list, I'm not playing this yet, it was this or Palworld and went with Palworld, I'll just wait for patches to be added in case they add new chars. I thought one of the better characters atm was the giant bitch(Fediel iirc) though? Who are the little girls that you need in your party, Cagliostro, I guess the new Maglielle maybe and what, the caster girl?

I haven't looked at balance in this game but at least in the original, other than Sandalphon being completely broken(they made him for casual to clear the hard content as the very last char added basically), there were quite a few strong characters that weren't little girls. More importantly you could pretty much clear with everyone, it was just more restrictive on who to put in your party if you wanted to solo some of the endgame fights, but you could just main anyone.

Checking a thread on this, people seem to be saying stuff like Sieg, Percival and Gallanza are all good as AI and you can't really get more manly than these. Maglielle also seems to be an alternative to Cagliostro so you'd pick one or the other not both so just a single little girl per team basically for buffs/support.

Charlotta or whatever is the other one, she uses a greatsword.
