Grand Theft Auto V

This is one of the best GTA games, but I'm sick of it if only because I had to play it close to 4 times before managing to beat it once.

Many, many PC issues every time I tried to play it, and lost all progress each time. Then finally I just bought it on PS3 instead when I got one and only then did I manage to actually beat it, despite playing the first half way too much.

Luckily it was so much fun, I didn't really mind, but I'm kinda burnt out now. I was surprised at how complete the now "obsolete" PS3 version was to the PC version I remember playing though. And how much of a tremendous step up it was from GTA IV on the same system. Damn impressive.

Man I've ordered this for PS4 exactly two years ago and this week I managed to open the fucking packaging and install the game after all this time.

Since Covid is going on, I wanted to visit this game again. I never got past the half way mark originally. I submitted a ticket and they told me to verify who I am via the email linked to the account, however:

- I cannot play the game because in order to login to the Social Club, it asks me to verify my email
- The email originally used to set up the account DOES NOT EXIST anymore and therefore I cannot verify
- I am able to log into the Social Club website because I remember the password, but I cannot change the email without verifying the old email - which does not exist, so I cannot verify
- How can I change the email address linked to this account if the original email no longer exists? Am I being forced to purchase the game again?

It's like a never ending circle of idiocy trying to communicate with these people. Yet one more reason why these third party accounts are fucking garbage.

Heh, installed it from psstore, tried first mission, shot co-robber in the head, restart, shot civilian, restart, finally got outside, got shot to death by cops in cover + flanking me. Uninstalled. Playing Horizon Zero Dawn and Dungeons 3 until I feel like putting my hand in a blender again.

EDIT: comon you guys, long time pc master race gamer. Controllers for fps fucking sucks, and I’m getting older.

I used the Xim exclusively with Destiny when it came out (PS4), was fucking great. Wasn't aware there was a new model out but it has been like 5+ years since I bought mine.

What kind of weird version of poker is it you can play in this casino?

Or to ask my actual question, why can you not play a regular game of poker in *any* of these games?

Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2 has Texas Holdem poker, dunno why GTA5 has 3 card poker instead of Texas. Probably because it would be an easy way to transfer millions of credits between players if you had no limit betting

I wishlisted this after watching Sakura Miko play (highly recommended), and a friend got it for me on sale. I'm really only interested in the online.

It is a very odd mix of hilarious gameplay, bizarre design decisions, geological load times, and one of the worst interfaces I've ever had the displeasure to wade through.

Just getting into a mission with a friend is an arduous task, and frequently fails. Typically one or both will hang in a forever-loading state or have to leave (and leaving sessions is bad!). Just finding or sending invites is a painful slog through the awful menus. And when you do make it, often the host will have some ultra -retard mode on that makes no sense. Like some kind of team event with team sizes of 1 so everyone just shoots each other.

You get these nonstop popup notifications which are utterly useless as you have no way to click on them. Lately most of mine have been about my fake money making factory which vanished off the map so I couldn't even find it. I tried to just sell it but there's actually no way to sell property. You have to keep buying till you hit the limit and then replace the property you no longer want. I did this and I only got the option to trade in my best place. None of the others were even in the list.

As a result of all that assgoblinry I now own 7 properties, and the limit is supposed to be 6? I have no idea what is going on. One made me the boss of a bike gang, one made me CEO of a corporation which didn't take my name so is named "An Organization".

The version I got comes with this criminal enterprise stuff, where you can set up like counterfeiting, or gun running etc. They seem to have extremely slim profit margins and you are basically food for hacking kids that can completely ruin your missions. I shut them off and would sell them if I could as they gank money out of your bank daily.

The radio stations are great, the clothes are great, the tattoos are so-so (saints row 2/3 is the best for tats). All the voice acting is top notch. But they just don't do enough asshole-mitigation or bugfixing to make the online great.

My guess is that "whats a server?" - "Welcome to Ubisoft!" guy got fired from Ubi and hired at Rockstar.

Despite all the negativity I've been having fun. Just hauling ass around town in fast car, pickin up hookers (though the animations don't really work for girls) and buying clothes and all the minigames and stuff. Fun times!

Bethesda and Rockstar have the same problem. Great baseline and settings, horrible everything else.

The king of the hill matches are 3x stuff right now but totally unplayable. I stayed in long enough to see 2 guys grouping together, each one aimbotting in the off round.

The ones without teams are just constantly shot in the back as people spawn behind you. They really phoned this stuff in. Countless problems solved by shooters in the 90's. Like do the designers even play games at all? haha
