So looks like I'll end up shawing this GTA thread too eh?

Enough with the Bad stuff, if this type of conversation is going to continue take it to the rickshawed GTA thread.

You've gotta be pretty bad to expect GTA online's launch to not be a disaster. Sean is this your first online game? I bet you got carried through all 50 of the car jump challenges.

edit: oh shit, old man tarrant is here. Ok guys enough of this baddie stuff.

So to discuss the actual game...

Is there any point to doing the side quest where you have to knock down all the real-estate signs of that realtor guys competitor? Took a while to do, and I got absolutely nothing at the end of it. Didn't get a call from the quest giver, and no "mission completed" popped up or anything of that sort. I definitely got all 15/15(because I missed one and couldn't figure out which, took forever re-visiting most of the locations a 2nd time). I played for about another hour after completing that quest, and nothing has popped up yet.

I'm hoping *something* happens later in the game because of that pain in the ass fetch quest.

I never I said I expected it to be anything but a disaster. Shit, I don't expect this thing to work for another 2 weeks and even then it'll probably be shoddy at best. If it works at all before then I'll be pleasantly surprised, like when Derpin gets some "extra warmth" from the other hobos.

I'm just saying, they shouldn't be given a free pass and we should call them fags who probably love rainbow-haired trannies. I'm mostly just taking issue with hodj retardedly calling GTAO "Free content" when we very clearly bought and paid for it 2 weeks ago. Anything else is like, whatever man.

It unlocks Josh's quest line and is fairly amusing, one of the better ones imo. It's Trevor content and pretty zany.

Ahh, Sean at his finest:

Not being able to play the single-player game at a decent performance because you downloaded it digitally.Rockstar did nothing wrong, you are a bad.

Not being able to play the online component decently the first day it is launched, even with an awesome single player experience.Rockstar is fucking retarded.

This shows perfectly that Sean cares nothing about anyone other than himself.

I also see the GTAO content as a "free" bonus. I'm paying $60 for the game just for the single-player portion, regardless of GTAO content or not. I did the same for every previous GTA and was perfectly happy with all of them. Hell, I honestly didn't even know it was going to have an online component until maybe a week before release, I hadn't been keeping close tabs on the game at all, just watched a few trailers early on and that was it.

I'm going to wait and see how long it takes to get functional. I haven't had an XBLive subscription in a couple years, and I'm not signing back up, just in case some other game comes along that interests me before GTAO starts working propertly.

Hodj why would you call GTAO free content?
Because if you stripped it out, the game still would have sold 1 billion dollars on day one, and in fact they did strip it out, and the game in fact did sell 1 billion dollars on day one.

They could have easily sold GTA Online as a 20 dollar expansion. They could probably get away with a nominal fee for the product in terms of a monthly charge, say 5 dollars or whatever.

They aren't doing any of that. They have a pay shop. So I'd say its a free bonus on top of the actual single player game by pretty much any definition.

Its like Red Dead. No one bought that game for its Multiplayer. Its multiplayer was great, one of the few multiplayer shoot fests I've ever played and enjoyed, in fact, but had they stripped it out, no one would have noticed.

"could" is a situational probability. "is" is the reality. GTAO is a feature that's included in $59.99.

It's data on my disc that I bought. It's content I own. It was advertised as being part of the content sold with the game. It's on the back of the box as part of the content you buy with the game.

Seriously, stop making up bullshit dude. It sucks that it's currently broke and not working, I'd have well moved on from that by now had you not just continued to carry on with thisutter nonsense.

On a side note, will have to disagree with hodj here. It's definitely part of the purchase, so it's not technically free. Would the same number of people bought GTA5 without it? Probably, or at least very close. But it was promised as part of the purchase. I think it's completely fair grounds to expect it to be available. However, I'm not going to have an aneurysm over it.
