CDPR may be better at story telling and visuals but Rockstar is unmatched in fleshing out a fictional world.

As amazing as the GTA V world is, it's remarkable how bad GTA Online's multiplayer setup is. It's something I feel like I'd play the shit out of if it was done better. Between the load times and how contrived it is to get into a game or mini game (we've spent some time playing those at our LANs, some hilarious times w/ car lawn darts and shit) it's really remarkable how poor the user experience is for it.

And yet, the amount of money it's printed for them, one of the more amazing things of all, heh. It's disappointing that I'd have to go and deploy FiveM or something similar rather than an official experience if I wanted to host something on my home server like I do my survival and other games.

I mean CP2077 was 400 million for launch + the DLC. I can't imagine something 5x that cost. Where would all that money go. Especially as GTA 5 was only 250 million.

Even more VO work? Hiring celebrities to do more, marketing I guess?

Just a bloated studio full of people doing little or nothing?

Cyberpunk was probably...
100M for Keanu Reeves' likeness, getting him to promote the game, various promotion
200M for studio salaries while they mostly sat around doing nothing and five overworked Asian guys did all the programming
25M to hire a twitter team to issue apologies for stuff
75M for the actual game development

It's hard to imagine that cost with a video game. Even counting inflation.
It makes you wonder how much they are going to spend on "Project Orion".

Cyberpunk was made in a country where the average salary is about 1/2 of that in the UK. It was also in full scale production for about half the time GTA 6 has been in full production.

I could very easily see this having a 2 billion dollar budget (or close to it) especially after factoring in the marketing that it will get. It's going to bring in probably more than 5x that much revenue so why not.

I just want a long and badass single player story with a ton to unlock for 100%ers, and a talk radio station similar to the old Lazlo from back in the day.

Really dont care about the online stuff unless it's a huge upgrade from 5 but I'm easy to please.

I really don't have any interest in online/multiplayer, hell I don't even know if I'll get the game at all. If single player looks to be fun enough I might scoop it up on PS5 or just wait for PC.

Didn’t I read they brought in the GTA RP people to help to design the online?

They definitely collaborated on adding RP officially. I don't know if any nopixel were actually consulted for GTA6 though.

It would be under NDA if they did consult on it. Noxpixel devs wouldn't be allowed to mention they looked at GTA6.

They acquihired the devs behind FiveM / RedM, the single player GTA / Red Dead mods that enable all the RP stuff we see.

The latest announcement related to this is that the next version of NoPixel will be available in the standard GTA launcher.
