Honestly, if you're doing 1080p the 1070 is way overkill, a 1060 or a 480 is more than enough for that setting, no games are probably ever going to challenge it at 1080.How long should it cover you if you ARE using 144hz? And maybe 1440p? I'm debating snagging one to upgrade my 970 to go with my monitor. But thinking of holding out for the 1080 to start being in stock again too.
What do you get with everything maxed in WoW typicallyMy 1070 plays overwatch on ultra settings at 240ish Avg fps if that says anything g
WoW is very CPU centric. So if you are running an older chip, that's going to be the cause of any FPS issues.Sorry I'm on 7/10. If I go to 10 on the slider (full settings) i get around 55 in Dalaran
Fan of over building myself. Spent about $2,500 on a scratch build in 2010 and just now looking at a new video card which will carry me for another 3-4 years or until component failure.Building a new PC and know very little about graphics cards. should i go with a 980 or a 1060? just a casual game player Wow/overwatch/LoL.
A 1060. It's about as powerful as a 980, but newer, likely to get better with driver updates.Building a new PC and know very little about graphics cards. should i go with a 980 or a 1060? just a casual game player Wow/overwatch/LoL.
"At the moment" is the key word. You never know what you might want to do in the future so why not get the better card for that cheap. I'd say jump to the 1070.How many of you are taking advantage of the amazon refund on the 970s? It looks like I could get a 1070 for like $100 or so. Am I stupid to just take the 20% refund instead? I game in 1080p at the moment.

It appears that Amazon is giving people who bought 970s from them either a 20% refund or will accept a return for full credit. I paid $330 for my 970gtx. The 1070s are going for the mid four hundreds now.Explain this 1070 for $100 to me please
