Did they ever do anything with home instances? I remember them touting your home as an ever changing zone that morphs along with your storyline decisions. All I ever got were a couple extra NPCs...

My problem with the game is the classes and the weapons and the customization system. It's way too linear/unbalanced/boring.

I'll probably log in again when they add a new class or weapons. My favorite class was the necromancer and I never enjoyed the feeling they gave that class.

The home instance they give a new gathering node every once in a blue moon, other than that it's pointless still.

I've gotten to the point where I don't give a shit about their pve anymore, more so now that they're developing these big outdoor raid events which require you to jump on TS with 100 other people, rely on people not to fuck up to get rewarded with little for the time spent (they went and upped the drop rates on tequalt cause I guess no one gave a shit to do it anymore). Rather spend my time wxp zerging in wvw, get some fights, bags, and level up chests which have a lot better chance of dropping ascended now. I've gotten two ascended rings since the patch and someone on my server got 3 pieces in one train day. So end up playing the game mode they give the least attention to, well ok second least to spvp.

The game really needs a shiny new class, but at this point I feel restricted to playing one class on one spec because of the equipment upgrade difficulty going forward, making ascended gear and legendary. Mats are getting expensive because of this as well so leveling through crafting is getting to be something for the rich only. They still haven't released plans on any expansions and it looks like they may even take longer than wow to release one. WvW spring tournament(season 2) is coming up starting march 28, and guilds are already jumping servers to stack on the higher ranked one, once again destroying some of the servers, ehmry bay, sbi, sor have already imploded.

Usually most tiers have it on thurs friday when the score has already been settled. Some tiers like this week where we have T3 is rank 5, 8, 11 servers train ocx to eu time, last week was when sor was trying to tank so bg jq had their fun running them over all week. Last friday we had guys getting like 20-30 ranks during the day in T2.

I re-installed just to try out this patch, sadly it's still the same zerg the entire zone no idea wtf is going on bullshit. It really sucks, I wanted this game to be so good.

For any open zone invasion event it's going to be a zerg, it's running a lot smoother than the karka event did at least. The event is to escort the citizens out of lion's arch, and to help the troops take down the aetherblade forces, you can get rewarded for getting a certain amount of people out. This looks like to be the first part of the invasion arc.

The backpiece you craft from the event looks really nice, only problem is for the glow on it you need to craft it to ascended, which means you need to get tailor, leatherwork, or armorsmithing to 500. Except people are saying the mats for tailoring cost like 300g and others cost like 50g to make it.

Funny thing that came from this, they destroyed lion's arch, moved all the essentials out to vigil keep in gendarran fields, except the crafters and laural vendors are now stuck on an airship which you can only get access to with an airship ticket that randomly drops, or buy a two week pass for like 150gems or the infinite pass for 1000gems. Talk about trying to squeeze money out for conveniences. Crafters available in all cities as usual, but I'm sure they will get some lazy suckers who will by the passes.

As much as I loved GW2 for a lot of reasons, the bad ones overwhelmed the good ones and I can't stay logged in anymore. Their 2 weeks patch cycle for me is a huge pile of junk, let alone the fact they often do zero-sum content, removing as much as they add.
I like their action-y combat, but I despise grinding tokens for gear, I hate speed running dungeons and don't really appreciate the no-trinity statement.
Add that 99,999% of the times you kill a boss of any kind, you get shat on for reward.

I'll stick to some other game for now.

There's crafting and laurel vendors in every city and on the WvW maps. Also the passes drop from the event.

This. 100x this. Plus the fact I despise my Thief in PVE and really didn't enjoy WvWvW except for the brief time PRX was there.

Err yeah I mentioned crafting still available in all other cities anyways

The passes that drop are one time uses. Got one at the start of the event, used it just to check the area out.

There is a small robot at the refugee camp outside Vigil Keep in Gendarran that will port you up to the Ship, not sure if it requires a pass, but I'd think not.

The Lion's Arch evacuation is actually not a zerg event, it turns out. If you zerg the individual events they will scale up and take too long to kill. The only way to win is to spread out and cover the events with 1-2 groups each while others actively go looking for individual citizens to rescue. A couple guilds formed to farm it consistently, it's pretty easy if everyone knows the plan.

This whole game is kind of a social experiment about the self organization of large groups.

Yea, I'm trying to be one of the people that hunt's for the citizens but being a lvl 46 pushed to 80 I just can't hang unless with a group. I hope to knock out the achievements later next week when I'm off work if I can stop playing PS2.

Yup. One main raid to down the Miasma deployments, one additional raid to defend the rally points, and a couple groups going round to rescue citizens. x3 for each area (I hate Toxics btw. The Finish Him is a pain). It's starting to get organized, but the constant overflow is a pain.

For a filthy casual like me, who was 80 for a couple weeks and not playing that much, I went from being in mostly Fine armor 70-80 to full Masterwork+Rare 80. The constant shower of Alliance Supplies is great for a lowly player.

No no no. Don't try to raid the miasma events. Any more than 15 people and those events scale like crazy and you can't down them. It's actually easiest with 9 per miasma event.

I love/hate GW2's RNG. I get into 5 instances last night that were able to rescue 1200 citizens, and get that Ultimate reward bag. Nothing good from them..at all. Kill a couple Vets while keeping a rescue area clear of roamers, get 2 exotic armor pieces for my lvl65 ranger.
