Hopefully this will pave the way for ones that do alert you to critically low blood glucose.
Ah, I do remember reading that when it was first announced. Shit.

No current concerns for me but I’ve been thinking about getting one just to see what my daily levels are and how different foods affect me.

One clusterfuck after another. I have bad double vision since my latest episode. This is how this shit started 10 years ago. Back then I drove literally 100 miles to work and back wth one eye closed. Today I went to the ER. In the good part of town. Very few people there. Very quickly they took me in to get a CTScan. Kind of leery because when all this started I went to the ER snd they ordered a CT Scan and what I assumed was a DR. but was a nurse practicioner said "nothing unusual, if it worse go to a neurologist". Things got much worse and being new to town it was hard to just call up and make an appointment with one. I finally got into the neurolgy clinic in with the same hospital. He pulled up my CT scan and said y ou can see it plain as day I don't know what they were looking at. She should have ordered a MRI that day then corticosteroids. But nope.

So today have CT Scan. Then waited and waited and there was nobody coming and going patients wise. Finally I asked. Said someone would be right out. An hour later "Oh we don't have anyone that can read the CT Scan". So I left and the dipshit checking people in said "You can't just walk out", watch me. They never got to taking my insurance info. I'm sure they will send a bill. Good news is I don't care and can take the hit for not paying. I asked before I left if they wanted my address or email so I could get the results, nope.

My niece works there in the radiology department and she wasn't there today.

I fixed the eye prioblem at least temporarily. Not sure if it was due to anti inflammation or anti immune system but I took several prednisone before bed last night. I knew if they ever got around to finding something they would give an infusion of corticosteroids. So without that I took several prednisone that I had aquired years ago off the grey market. Woke up and no double vision.

don't know what happened, but local ers here no longer read any of the x-rays or ct scans. they are sent offsite. it can take 45mins to hours. twice had it take over 4 hours. when my doctor ordered a ct scan, it was also read offsite, but my last ultrasounds were read by my urologist.

at first i didn't want to use the local medical system's app/portal, but the thing has been great. test results are sent as they are done. i have been waiting in the er bed and able to read test results way before they come in a tell me.

Radiologists tend to be expensive, so a lot of hospitals don't employ them directly, same as anesthesiologists. I guess in some situations, it may be cheaper to not have a radiologist as a FTE on staff and just do a per diem deal where they get paid per case, especially if it's a smaller, low-volume hospital.

Ultrasounds are considered to be a form of "basic" imaging, and usually providers that order their own basic imaging also interpret it. "Advanced" imaging (CT, MRI, PET) interpretations are usually done by radiologists (although sometimes providers will do their own interpretations in addition to the radiologist), so it doesn't surprise me that CTs are going offsite.

However, very bizarre that they're not interpreting their own plain film X-rays, as those are also considered basic imaging.

The MRIs I had done at a private hospital they were read and a report generated on site. The neurologist that ordered it only told the nurse to check and see if it mentioned new lesions. It took forever to hear back. Picked up a copy at the hospital to have it and the radiolgoist that did the report asked how my infection was that showed up on the MRI. Never heard a thing. Said he called and left a message with the office of the Dr. that ordered it, who was at another hospital. Anyway that neurologist took early retirement when Covid came about.

When this started 10 years ago I went to the ER and they ran a CT Scan. The doctor/nurse practicioner said nothing unusual if it gets worse go to a neurologist. Things got much worse. Went to the neurology clinic that was tied in with the hospital. He pulled up the ctscan and you could see something wasn't right. Said they should have ordered a MRI and most likely would have done infusion of corticosteroids. He ordered a MRI but the wait was 21 days so I went to the private hospital and they did it the next day. MRI and 5 days of corticosteroid infusion.

My youngest is getting her tonsils and adenoids removed as I type. Quick/routine proceed but always a little scary when they’re put under.

Anyone else have trouble apnea? I got the balloon procedure a few years ago, with the mouth scrape and chopping off the uvula. Then 2 years ago, I went back for a draining. Back again, so finally went with the CPAP machine. Guess it's getting better.

When I went to my ENT a few months ago, they Said my blood pressure was high. So now I'm on BP meds

Wait gain, zero energy, always tried, growing old sucks.

My testosterone was a bit low, 405, debating getting TRT. Not quite 50, no motivation to work out isn't helping

I dont know about any of the other stuff, but my T levels were down around that mark a couple years ago and thats when I started TRT. The only reason I tested my T levels is because I would go home during my lunch and literally take a nap for 15-20 minutes. I thought something drastic was wrong, like diabetes or something but my doctor said it was low T and that I also need to get better sleep. I dont like the options I have for better sleep, as he relates it to stress / anxiety, and I'm just not going to take propanolol or w/e, or any other similar drug. TRT has done wonders for the rest of my life, though.

Started with the shots, and now I just use androgel on my shoulders every morning. The shot tapers off too quickly for me, and Ill revert back to how I was acting/feeling with low T for the last week and a half or so every month. My energy levels didnt spike up like I was doing speed or something, but I do notice a large improvement over my mood. Ill get restless if Im "too" sedentary, which is new to me. Kind of makes me wonder just how long my T levels have been low, too. If Im away from the gym for more than a couple days, I feel like a fat fuck and want to go work out. Sex drive is up and all that goes along with that in my dating life, as well. (Basically saying the weight will drop off from the increased energy because of your mood.)

Basically, Im all for everyone that has low T to get on TRT. Its truly inexpensive, as you can just get a rolling prescription from your regular doctor and get the androgel at Walmart for ~55 bucks a month when your insurance doesnt want to help. Your personality will change, though. I feel like the things that bothered me dont bother me near as much anymore, but in that same vein.. I feel like my empathy for other people has dropped off a fucking cliff.

My doc agreed to put test on my blood work, he didn't seem very inclined that it had anything to do with my symptoms. I didn't realize doc prescribed was only $55 a month. Those clinics near me seemed much higher

Some doctors and pharmacists are against it. Mind over matter kind of approach, which is fair, I guess.

It may not have much to do with "some" of the symptoms you listed, but if its in the 400's - thats near the bottom. The test that you sent off is probably going to be the most expensive part, but the prescription from your doc (the only visit for this) should be repeating for refills. The following months will only cost you the refill. Walmart, last I checked, was the cheapest with GoodRx. CVS "looks" cheaper, but they have to have a specific brand / product number in stock that applies to that GoodRX. They never do, and will try to ring you out on one that has no GoodRX for 3-4 times the price. They just arent worth the hassle.

Sounds like both of us need to find a way to have proper sleep, though. Hope this all helps you.

I honestly have no idea how you track that. I typically lay on my side, and on my stomach I .. think? My mom and pops swear up and down I need to get a Sleep Number - but I dont know how I feel about my bed moving me around in the middle of the night.

I used to snore like a bag of angry lumberjacks, but I got an adjustable bed because sleeping on my sides was causing me back problems. Helped a lot with the snoring too.

Do you use or did you do any research on hcg? I've considered having my levels checked, but I don't like the idea of losing natural function. I know hgc can help that, but it doesn't seem like it would be great long term.

I havent looked into HCG at all because its not a concern for me. I just dont plan on having children. Orgasm's are fine, and erections are fine. My balls, as weird as it feels to talk about them, havent shrunk as far as I can tell. Ive been on TRT for quite a while, too. But even if they did, I dont think the sperm count completely drops to zero. If I ever did meet the love of my life and she wants kids, Im not going to deny her that. But I wont mind going the route of vitro fertilization if I have to. Not only to secure the pregnancy, but to know that the egg and the sperm are both healthy at inception. I imagine you can also freeze your sperm if that really is a concern for you, but the survival rate of that is only about 50%.

But generally, everything Ive read about the adverse effects of TRT is not really based off a healthy dose, nor is it on someone thats my age or older. The Androgel pump for example, just one squirt per shoulder and thats all you need - its not hard to get the correct amount each and every time. You can also stop TRT at any point. But I know that its not like Im going to go back to ever producing a healthy amount of Testosterone in my system. So I've kind of just accepted the idea that I'll likely be on TRT for years to come.

I've had umpteen diagnosis. Some plausable, kind of. Some go against modern medicine.

The MS specialist at the MS clinic "You have a few lesions would else could it be?" Literally said that. Dumbass me can look at the Mayo clinic website and see numerous other things that cause rit. Then she said "all the things you complain about have nothing to do with MS. How she says both of those things and doesn't get the connection is beyond me. Over and over to every Dr. I see I mention how much all the stuff revolves around my skin. The fact Lupus can cause brain lesions is news to them apparently. It's a giant you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours deal. Even with the best insurance I could buy at any price they require you to get a referall from a nurse pracicioner first and you mention some of the stuff and they look at you like you have three heads.

It's beyond clear now it's Lupus. 3 minutes in the sun today brings me to my knees and hours later the pain is overwhelming. SPF 50 from now on for a 30 second walk outside.

The medical community incompetence is real. I ordered a T- shirt giving some stats like rank of malpractice insurance and other stuff. I don't care. I may wind up in prison or jail. Probably get better healthcare.

The best diagnosis
Massive brain damage
You will never walk again
In two years you will need to be tied down to a wheelchair to keep from falling out.

ADEM - which is related to MS and only occurs in children and the identifying characteristic is the MRI is termed a thite completely full of lesions. I had 4 small ones.

MS from a Dr. that it was news you could have something other than MS cause lesions. Of course she also said she's not there to see or diagnose patients but she did. She's there to review and run drug test. She picked the wrong redneck to tell me how difficult stressful it was to look at numbers all day. Money is got in her posistion giving blow jobs. This is not just me, another two doctors told me she was known as a big party preson till her current job. Maybe she is better at giving blow jobs thoughs he does suck at her current job.

I've moved onto the next chapter. Tell them how incompetent I think they are. As a patient you really can't tell how good a Dr. is when you first see them. In the case of the MS specialist there are only two in the state and the other is there to treat depenents of the Air Force personsal since their other baser they fly from is in ND and apparently MS is related to low vitamin D.

But they all make sure to show you what school they got a degree from. Apparently the slide has been going on for longer than just recently.

The MS specialist and the ADEM neurologist both graduated from Harvard. They really DO NOT like it when you say the best jobs in the petrochemical industry are in LA and TX. Thest best medical jobs not so much for a few exceptions.

In school LA was often referecd to as thank God for MS or LA would be last in everything. I recently saw LA is ranked last now. I believe it, the Doctors don't even realise they are so used to seeing mostly the bottom of the barrel so they adjust to it.

It's not just LA but TX as well in some ways. Once a hospital group has your diagnosis on record that's it. No docotor or nurse practicioner will do a fucking thing to investigate or treat other symptoms. I said many times I could show up at the ER with half an arm missing and the Dr. would say "common with whatever diagnosis they pick off the list. Speaking of ER. The closest I ever come to actually killing someone. The pain was so bad I went to the ER. Back when you actually saw a doctor and not a nurse. I told him I had been diagnosed with ADEM which there is no way. That was that. He went to security and had me removed from the building sand told me to quit wasting their time.

I'm done be Mr. nice guy. That ends now.
Yes I have a couple of attorneys on it already but it was like I had a fuck me shirt on all the time. I have tshirts coming soon and I'll make sure to wear it every time I go to the Dr. or hospital and point out a few stats for their ejoyment.

What do I have to loose? Might get better medical care in prison. Maybe.

Rant over. This week I'll either end up dead or in prison. OH well either is an improvement.
Just to be clear it's been 4 different states so far. LA, TX, AZ, and FL at the mayo clinic which it is very hard to find someone there that their primary language is english and AZ.
