Speaking of eye stuff, I'm still wearing an eye patch because I can't really see out of my surgery eye and if I keep it open and unobstructed I have double vision.

My surgery was on January 27th. Going on Pirate month 4.

Mostly any pain I think is just extra pressure right now and the injection site was sore. Thankfully the blood looks awful but isn't in my vision

Maybe I missed it but what did the doc actually tell you happened and what to expect?

Well the doctor claims it bled so much because I took aspirin lol and thinned the blood. I pregame aspirin every time because it helps dull it a bit. There's probably some truth to what he said but my gut tells me he nicked a blood vessel. Also since it was sore it felt like he went a little too deep but that might be me imagining things.

The good news is the treatment is actually working. My right eye (original problem) he said looks perfect. Left one still has some swelling so I've got a few more rounds.

Can anyone remind me of what blocks what absorption wise and vitamins, wasn't it zinc and vit d? I think I've got my split right, am I take a zinc, mag and B vitamin with a Boron

Evening I take my wide spectrum vitamin, I want to based on blood tests start taking like a 3-5,000 Iu vitamin D but not sure if I should take with evening vitamin I'm assuming.

my understanding,
shouldn't take zinc, calcium or iron with magnesium.
vitamin d, b6 and magnesium work good together, but can cause stomach issues.
d is fat soluble, ideally want to take very few fat soluble things at the same time.

Zinc is required for you to absorb and utilize vitamin A effectively.

My understanding is you need certain amounts of a lot of things (especially zinc) to properly utilize other vitamins and minerals, and there won't be any negative side effects of supplementing if you don't get enough through diet UNLESS you are supplementing too much.

couple of things i forgot, my endocrinologist put me on high doses of vitamin d and calcium after my parathyroid problems and bones getting a little brittle. vit d helps the body absorb calcium, but it can also cause kidney stone for people prone to them, which they didn't tell me about. don't care if the odds are low, already dealing with too many of them.
fiber, some nuts, beans, grains can also reduce absorption of vit d.

(as I understand things) you want to take k2 with your d to help the calcuim go to the right places. as far as when to take things, people often package zinc with magnesium, and I take magnesium before bed to help with sleep. I take d in the morning since you're supposed to be getting it from sun, which you should also be getting in the morning. No idea if that tracks with anybody's science though /shrug

I got a prescription for CGM sensors and holy fuck are they expensive lol. $225/month. With a copay coupon I think $75. Not prohibitively expensive but with my sugars under control I'm wondering if its.worth the cost. Probably is.

Had my 6th or 7th shot in my right eye today. That one's on a two month rotation. I am really hoping that idea improves enough to stop this because it sucks.

Got 3 more in the left eye for the initial loading of the medicine.

Someone tell me one day it'll end for the love of God.

Blood sugar fasting has been consistently 100ish

I buy dexcom sensors and with a coupon my pharmicist gets it's cheaper than what I was paying with insurance. Like $150/month.

I'm not really sure where it comes from he takes care of all that. After the first time I used my insurance he said to look into it might be cheaper and it was.

I use the Freestyle CGM. Sensor feeds into my iphone.

Noodleface Noodleface The data is very useful in tracking down what foods and times of day your sugars are spiking. Also good to see if you are getting any really low spots overnight.

Yeah I got a Rx for the freestyle libre 3 plus or something. I am probably going to use it. Tired of finger pricking after 20 fuckin years.

This could probably go in the Jimmy Rustle thread, but it works here too:

Tweaked my back yesterday at work and it’s fucking infuriating. About 20 years ago, working a job at Lowe’s and I slightly compressed a disk loading appliances. Being 20 years old I just walked it off and things healed and I just watch what I do not to aggravate it.

Well yesterday I must have turned or done something just right because it aggravated the hell out of it again. Thankfully no numbness or tingling anywhere so I don’t think it’s on the nerve but man, trying to get out of bed this morning you would have thought I was 80 years old. And I’m stuck at a work conference all day today.

For now, just taking Advil and I have a heating pad I can use when I get home. Other than that, all I can do it trying move around frequently and stretch to try and loosen the muscles so it can ease up.

Getting old really sucks!

Your local drug store sells heating pockets with holders that you can put on to have heat on the area all day. You mentioned a work conference. If that involves an airplane, put this on AFTER you go through the screening. I usually pop into a bathroom.
Whatever you do Don't let them operate.

My disc replacement was great have me my life back. He doesn't probably need but someone's it's worth the risk
