Wish me luck, on a last ditch effort now hatched by my mom. I don't want to jinx it but it really fits to the point suprised nobody else even mentioned it before, down to the place where my abdomen hurts.

The one Dr. I know was a former baseball player for LSU which is why my dad and I know him. He's from the same town in TX I went to college at and near my house in TX. He holds the SEC record for home runs in a season lol, then went to school and became a Dr. like his dad. Anyway he said no problem and he diagnosed my moms gall bladder problem after Dr. after Dr. couldn't come up with anything. Took him 5 minutes and they removed it and it fixed the issue.

So we'll see. Not sure how long I have to give it to see if it works.

All right had a cold about a month ago. Pretty sure it was the run of the mill common cold viral infection. It's a month later and I still have the cough. So the cold turned into a chest cold and although I feel much better I still have the cough. My Dad read me the riot act last night about how my grandfather died from pnemonia. I just don't want to go see a doctor and have him throw anti-biotics at me.

Infection: Bacterial or viral? - Mayo Clinic

Treatment - Mayo Clinic

Should I go see the doctor anyway?

If you feel good, but still have a persistent cough that's been going on weeks, it could very well be acid reflux. Actually happened to me awhile ago. I had a cough that wouldn't go away. I work in an urgent care setting and for weeks my doctors we tried suppressants, allergy stuff, steroids, anti-biotics, etc. Finally went to my PCP and he laughed at the doctors I worked with and said acid reflux that's causing me to want to cough up the acid burning in my gut. Got started on meds and a supplement, fixed me up right away.

Got thrown out of PT today when I still had 4 more treatments to go. They refuse to continue until I have seen a vascular doctor and cleared.
I was doing the hip thrust pelvic tilt exercise of death when I turned purple I think and had that seering foot pain I have been getting. They are concerned I have blockage or DVT is acting up or some crap.
I'm going to celebrate this with cleaning my gutters and mowing the yard on a 90 degree day because F the dolice. I am not goddamn helpless.
This stuff is starting to make me madder than ISIS at a gay parade.

Every damn week I get told something different or pushed off to someone else. I feel there is no way these fine men and women can be this stupid so it must be lawsuits that has done this. Everyone is so damn scared to say or do anything they just throw you around like a beanie bag. That or I am really getting crappy doctors and care.

Doc scheduled me for a liver ultrasound because he said it felt larger than normal. I have no pain in area, but am thinking it's totally possible I have a fatty liver given massive soda intake throughout my life. Anyways the ultrasound is tomorrow, but my blood panel has not come back yet. I'm considering waiting to see if my liver enzymes return normal before I pay the $900.00 for the ultrasound. Anyone think this is unreasonable of me? I'm only 32 years old, 5'11, 160 lbs.... I'm not fatigued, etc. Would really rather not drop $900.00 on a test to hear about fatty liver which just means I need to get off my ass more, or nothing at all.

Depends:
Did you recently gain or lose a lot of weight ?
Have you been sick recently or travelling ?
History of liver or colon cancer in the family ?
Any blood disorders ? Leukemia/blood clotting ?
Jaundice ? Itchiness ?

You probably won't drop dead if you wait a week for the results, but your doctor should know why he's asking you to do the ultrasound, so ask him.

I was down 5 pounds when they weighed, but I hadn't eaten at all. Weighing myself now I'm down 1.6 pounds from my previous weight... Dad had liver cancer, but drank at least 10 beers a day for 40+ years. No traveling or any disorders. I scheduled the appointment because I occasionally have very mild pain in my lower left abdomen after drinking soda/beer, eating spicy foods, or just over eating in general. It started about a year ago when I went to the ER with severe constipation, and has never gone away. I'm thinking I have a mild case of diverticulitis, and just wanted to ask a few questions, but he felt around my stomach and said he thought my liver might be enlarged. I want to emphasize the "might" as he didn't seem too sure of himself, and he is not my usual doctor as they got me in on short notice.

I thought about it more today, and I have a referral with a gastroenterologist due to the pain around my colon. I called and canceled the Ultrasound as I want to talk to the specialist before taking any expensive tests. My liver has always tested normal, but I have high LDL/Trigs for my age which makes me think fatty liver if anything. I struggle with tests like this because I feel like it's wise to be safe instead of sorry, but every time I go down this road it ends with "Oh, yeah, everything is normal.... Just eat better and exercise." which frankly I don't really want to spend a thousand bucks to hear again.

So, I have small breasts that are comprised of very dense tissue. They are fibrous and I have had two surgical biopsies...one lump was a benign cyst, the other was a benign microcalcification...both times in the L breast.
I had routine mammography 5/19...chose the 3 D route...today the Radiology nurse calls, very serious in her tone. They saw significant changes compared to my last images...grouped/clustered calcifications. I usually don't get worked up over having to go for more tests...but her tone...her tone was not great. Honestly, I am a bit anxious. It might just be because I don't have G to be with me through it this time.
OK...breathing...no worries, right!?!
Scheduled for Friday...wish me good luck!

I think that is an odd question. Disease processes can occur at any age. Yes...there are "age related" processes but a lot if those are intertwined with environmental and lifestyle factors.
My nephew had Hodgkins at age 3, G had high bp as an athletic and active 18 y.o., my cousins died of breast cancer in their 30s, my great grandpa was over 100 when he died...

I've had a mole on my side for my whole life. The doctors never worried about it until I was about 16. Then they kept a serious eye on it and when I was 25 (last year almost exactly) they removed it. It was awful, deep, painful and gruesome because it was a "high tension area", but the biopsy came back clean. It took months to heal and as soon as I wasn't too queasy to touch it, I noticed there was a bump below my skin. Super scary, but I told myself it was probably just healing, scar tissues, etc. Now the color has (clearly) grown back in. It gets darker and the border changes weekly. Red -> light brown -> light red -> dark brown. Sometimes pinkish.

2 months ago I noticed a new tiny freckle with two pustules-- look exactly like little white head pimples (right). I figured it was just my skin, which has never been perfect, and they'd heal. They haven't. They haven't gotten worse or healed. Just the same. Even more worrisome, a third freckle showed up that I noticed today (bottom left). It looks like a little prick, nothing serious at all.

Background: my maternal grandmother died of melanoma 6 weeks after they found it, my mom and two of her sisters have vitiligo. I'm blonde, extremely fair skinned and have light blue eyes.

I talked to my doctor about it, but the only doctor I've seen the last 3 years is my obgyn. He's referring me. Said it definitely needs to be checked out/sounds abnormal. We're inbetween insurance because T just started a new job. When I called the GP of our new office he said it'd be about 2 months to get in to get tested and I guess it takes at least a week to look over what they see or hear results or whatever secretary with no medical background was saying (3 mo from now give or take) unless I went to the ER... itd be really expensive to test there and they may not even do it because I don't have any symptoms except "unexplained weight loss" and ugly moles. Which makes us just out $1,000 bucks. I had 2 babies in 2 years but still I'm about 15-20 pounds lighter than my normal (5'10 120lb ATM). My derm (who is crazy $$$) specializes in laser reconstruction and she isn't much help except that it "needs to be seen asap"

I'm wondering the general consensus about what it could be, any advice on getting tested sooner or experience with skin conditions. 10 weeks (hopefully) seems like forever at this point and my stomach is in knots about it.

trex trex Don't know from experience, but perhaps this will be of some consolation below (the statistics of what is fact-of-life skin cancer in Australia). There are 3 types, you already know melanoma is the worst with the most limited therapies at late stage so there is no point telling you otherwise. You can also read up more in other articles on the web regarding Australia's problem (Australia is relevant, its basically your skin type with American sunlight, rather than say British sunlight which is not a similar experience). Australia has mandated screenings for everyone.

I wouldn't dwell on this aside from try to get your appointment moved.

Why is skin cancer so common in Australia? | SkinVision Blogs | SkinVision

You can try using that app I guess, it at least gives you something millennial-ese to do about it.

It's probably not melanoma. You look for irregular jagged borders with that, they don't tend to be circular. That was a big mole, wasn't it? Your skin hasn't actually healed all the way yet. That is a soft scar. That's what it looks like underneath a scab.

It should have healed by now. It's hard to tell. Is it smooth? that looks like an indentation. You say it's on your side, do you mean the side of your tit? Has your bra been aggravating it?

If it's been a year that shit should have healed even if it has. It is abnormal. But it's probably only a skin problem and maybe a lingering infection. Not teh cancer.

If the mole went THAT deep the basal layer of your skin (the part the grows more skin) might just be having a hard time covering the gap. I mean I don't know why and it's not supposed to happen that way... but the body does weird shit.

Keep an eye on it. If it expands or gets inflamed or becomes painful to the touch... I'd honestly be more concerned about a staph infection than cancer.

Ten weeks is ten weeks, and sooner would be better. But it's been a year, right? I suspect you need anti biotics, but I ain't a doctor.

trex trex - holy carp that is thin - I am 5'6" and fluctuate between 120 and 125 and my friends and family give me grief about being thin. I am very healthy -except for this weird boob thing so I just ignore them. But that much under your typical is a bit concerning for me - are you taking care of yourself -eating enough calories??

Out of curiosity, at what age did all of you start noticing health problems?
When I was 15. Pre-cancerous polyps in my colon. The rest is history, including my colon.

I've got an appointment next Tuesday to see my surgeon again and finally schedule my surgery. Should be the first week of July. Can't wait for it to over with so I can sit around the house for 2 months straight.
We've been asking family for help during the first couple months and I can't tell you how many's first comment is "well why do you need help?". Uhh I don't know I'm about to have a 10-12 hour surgery, be hospitalized for 10-14 days, and then be utterly useless for two months. Silly fucking us for trying to get my wife some help taking care of me and the 2 year old.
Friends? They're a different story. Every single one I've asked has replied something along the lines of "ok just tell us when. We'd love to help!"
So frustrating.

My A1c 10 days ago came back 6.1. Far from the 8's of January.
Sad thing is I haven't been all that compliant this month. I've found myself going days without eating again like I used to, then eating like a king out of nowhere. I am just never hungry most of the time.
