Update:Update:
I havent taken any Metoprolol since the night of the 22
I haven’t had any AFIB episodes since the morning of Friday the 25th and ending around 4pm PST(they went away without taking any medication, and the sensation was more annoying than concerning). I really REALLY hope that’s a good sign. Laying down doesn’t seem to be triggering anything anymore. I still don’t want caffeine or exercise until I speak with the cardiologist though. If the AFIB episodes started Thursday the 17th, I’ve now had more days without (8) than with (5).
Walking doesn’t seem to trigger a response, nor does lifting anything mildly heavy. Every night before I go to bed, my heart rate has dipped into the high 40s bpm range (ER doctor said that if that ever occurs to NOT take the medication they prescribed)
However, I do feel like I’m having general anxiety issues (mostly because I admit I’m worried of the physical symptoms returning). I think it’s made me more “hyper aware” of my own heart beat, I tend to be able to hear it when I’m sitting down at rest. But when I check my pulse, it’s typically no higher than it should be(mid 50s-low 60s). I’ve also ditched my Apple Watch for now since wearing it made me constantly want to check my heart rate which was prob messing with my anxiety.
I see the cardiologist next Wednesday and I really hope that if I’ve had no AFIB episodes by then, the doctor will conclude that I was suffering from very high anxiety issues for several days and that’s what caused the AFIB.
Current resting heart rate is 55 bpm
edit: I forgot to mention, my mother developed AFIB at some point several years ago and has been medicated since. However, in her case, when the AFIB started, it NEVER went away on its own. Even for a day.
Those eye tests are going to make you look like a demon at work.Well not great news. Had the big eye exam today and have retinopathy in one of my eyes. Other one seems fine, or fine enough.
For background I'm 41 and been type 2 for about 15 years.
I got a go back and do the test where they put dye in your veins and take pics of the eyes.
Treatment options are shitty to even shittier - laser or needle in my eye. I'm 100% going to do it, but it's a scary thought. The other option is of course going blind.
I'm a compliant diabetic, but probably could've taken a lot better care of myself. If I needed a kick in the ass, this is it.
Kind of in a depressed mood but I am glad we caught it on my yearly eye exam.
Sorry to hear about that. I'm not sure how serious something like this is but wedding anniversaries, birthdays, financial years, etc. are worthless if you are fucking dead because you put them before your health. So if it is serious, pop the ol' head out your ass and get it fixed ASAP.Well.... My enemy has been better identified, for whatever it is worth...

Around an inch by inch and a half nugget of joy loitering around on the top rear of my left kidney. Hasn't changed in size that I can tell over the last month and a half. Will still need a partial nephrectomy. Question is when I want to do it. ASAP and be in recovery through my 21st wedding anniversary, in June and be in recovery through mine and the wife's B-days (her late June, mine early July), or punt until July and miss the last month of my company's FY when most of the big deals need to be reeled in. Absolutely no good option.
I rate this cyst 0/10, would not cyst again with it.
Just now seeing this. I have some neuropathy and take ALA on and off. I take standard ALA pills I get off of Amazon, and it helps. Much lower intensity and lower frequency of those nervy feelings (of any kind, not just the tingles)anyone take/took Alpha Lipoic Acid? my back doctor said to try 600mg for my foot tingle. (not diabetic or overweight, but degen disk) what i gather R-ALA might be better than ALA - R-ALA/S-ALA mix, but costs more and harder on stomach.
also coming up on my annual checkup, is there any non-basic labs i should ask for? (for someone in mid50's) this is first time doing labs before visit so can't talk to doctor about it. have been looking at liver tests (relative is dealing with serious liver issues). when searching about it, it lists top 3 tests as Alanine transaminase (ALT), Aspartate transaminase (AST), and Alkaline phosphatase (ALP). i have only had ALP tested.
I once had a homeless dude who removed his NG tube... and then replaced it himself by the time we arrived to check on him.how the fuck do people tolerate NG tubes for any length of time? Is it because they're all barely/not conscious enough to be driven crazy by it?
how in the good goddamn fuck did he manage that?then replaced it himself
Hell if I know, but he kinda looked at us like thishow in the good goddamn fuck did he manage that?
I'm wearing a ph sensor and god almighty i want to tear this sumbitch out with all my being.Hell if I know, but he kinda looked at us like this

Yeah, this was from the CT scan today. (After what my wife went through with her left kidney (odd coincidence) and other medical situations I've had to handle in my life I've become adept at using the viewing software needed to go over CT/MRI scans so I hopped in and measured it. I'm awaiting the official follow up with my urologist/nephrologist and see what she thinks the best timing will be. (probably late this week or early next week) You are right that I'm leaning to "let's get this shit over with" at the moment.Sorry to hear about that. I'm not sure how serious something like this is but wedding anniversaries, birthdays, financial years, etc. are worthless if you are fucking dead because you put them before your health. So if it is serious, pop the ol' head out your ass and get it fixed ASAP.
If that doesn't apply, sorry to hear, let us know how it works out. ......
Also, Aced another brain MRI and I think after this one I move to every 6 months for 2 years.
did you notice is changes to heart rate/blood pressure? read it can lower them, which i really don't need to happenJust now seeing this. I have some neuropathy and take ALA on and off. I take standard ALA pills I get off of Amazon, and it helps. Much lower intensity and lower frequency of those nervy feelings (of any kind, not just the tingles)
It took like 2 months before I noticed real improvement. Oh, and unless you can swallow half a hot dog without chewing, don't get the 600mg gelcaps. Trust me: 2 x 300mg is big enough.

crazy thing is I asked the nurse and he said that some kinds of feeding tubes are actually larger and more rigid than the ph sensor I was stuck with, and I only had that for ~24 hours. Can't imagine what it's like being conscious and on a feeding tube for like a week or longer.
