Yea the problem was that the ammo did not last very long lol. I'm really rust as well so that did not help. The scorcher was not very good as I ran out of ammo on the zombies in 5 seconds.I've been back to playing this lately
Illuminati you have 2 main concerns: The voteless zombie swarms and the aliens. Voteless your best bet is something AOE or rapid fire with lots of ammo. The aliens are usually shielded - the shields can be brought down with really heavy damage or lots of rapid fire
Gatling turrets work well on these missions, because they can help counter the zombies and aliens. Nade launchers can help with zombie swarms. Explosive crossbow is pretty damned good if you have it unlocked (it was in one of the premium battlepasses). You'll want something high powered to deal with the tripod walkers after the shield gets popped, so any support weapon like rocket launchers works well or stratagems from your ship/airsupport.
Anyone playing this now?
I think I'm only level 27 but got the first battlepass 100% unlocked (Scorcher?).
Did a quick play now to check the Illuminati dudes and got my ass handed to me even on Hard. Whats a good gun for this faction?
Sickle is great for bots too.I've just gotten back into this. So far, I am still liking my ol' reliable LAS-16 Sickle for bugs.
I've been reacquainting myself with the game by laying low-mid bug games just to make sure the muscle memory is dialed in. There is a DMR-like weapon that I used to like to use for bots. Have not tried fighting the new guys at all yet.Sickle is great for bots too.
Still logging on somewhat frequently with friends. Despite all the new offerings, have yet to find a better general-purpose loadout than:
- Nade Launcher
- Supply Pack
- Orbital Laser (mass kill)
- Orbital Rail Strike (kills anything)
- Flame Shotgun (primary, kills anything but elites)
- SMG sidearm (secondary)
- Medium Armor with +Armor bonus
Pretty much all this is ancient equipment. If you are the nade/supply guy you will usually get most kills, least deaths, and everyone will depend on your resupplies.
The laser rover just kills me or my teammates more than it kills the enemies. The rifle rover is way safer for me in my experience and kills things a lot quicker.I usually prefer high mobility, shoot and move. So my core is:
- Sickle
- Laser Rover
- Cluster bombs
- Light armor with extra padding buff
Sidearm rarely becomes relevant (e.g. carrying mission item). Everything else depends on the mission/level and what other people bring. I like the disposable AT.
The beauty is that you have a lot of flexibility in what to bring.
I took a peak at the new enemies last night without knowing anything at all about them. That went about as well as you might expect.

It’s waaaay better now. Fires in short bursts, usually headshots. Just look at the number of magazines on your backpack (8 full load) and grab ammo when you see it down to 4 or less.I'll try it out again. Early after launch, laser used to be superior, even if more dangerous to the team.
