I was pleasantly surprised with how good this was. A must see if you like Spike Jonze or Charlie Kaufman.

Just watched the screener of this tonight. Really, really liked it. I am NOT a fan of Joaquin Phoenix at all (except for when he was very vexed in Gladiator), but damn did he do a fantastic job. For basically having to act all by himself in 90% of the movie, you hardly even noticed it. Of the recent releases/screeners, I liked this better than American Hustle (sucked) and Wolf of Wall Street (liked it). I'd say I liked it about as much as Rush, but in a totally different way.
This movie is probably a lot more realistic than we realize. Everyone in the movie walked around in their own little world, using their mobile devices and mostly ignoring everyone around them. It already happens today, just imagine if they actually had AIs like these. Although I really, really have to believe that by the time we have an AI of this caliber, (minor spoilers I suppose)
They also clearly made huge advances in battery life in this future, fucker never recharged!
Now, since I don't want to further spoil the movie for anyone by talking any more about what happens (although I'm sure you can guess most of it), the real question is, who would the voice of your OS be? Scarlett's voice is not one I'd pick to be honest, but being able to picture her made it so it doesn't really matter. Kate Beckinsale would probably be my first choice, which works out well because she'd also be my first choice for sexbot. If for some reason I couldn't have her, and I could track down any voice, it would be this chick (from the 1980s, who knows what she sounds like now). For some reason this track has always stuck in my head as one of the sexiest voices I've ever heard. Which means she's probably a hog.
Yes, amidst my lifelong love of heavy metal, I listened to, and enjoyed, Ice-T. Cuz I'm an OG pimp, obviously.

Watched it tonight as well, best movie I've seen this year. It's really not even close. I need to watch it again, but it might be my favorite movie I've seen in the last 2 or 3 years.

instead of the man chasing the tangible dream girl that is just always slightly out of reach, it's the same thing for an imaginary AI/his imagination of the perfect woman. Both are the kind of movie that really make you stop and re-evaluate the relationships that you have with the people in your life
