ZP from here? ZP raided great in a game with me, one of those few people you dont have to worry about. I find it hard to believe its the same ZP and hes wiping groups.

@Serum im a newb, I need to just be walked through things once but I am down if someone wants to hand hold me to start. I'm always in my guilds / friends mumbles which we own so we can use that or TS.

Yeah I've wondered if ZPs is ZProtoss from this board. I'm not sure. I know ZProtoss said he played a ton.

To reiterate I think ZP is pretty good but he isn't anywhere at a professional MOBA player's level. He does make some questionable engagement decisions and then somewhat passive aggressively starts calling out his team.

I also just purchased a microphone if we wanted to get skype/mumble groups together.

I must have pissed someone at Blizzard off. I've not managed to get into any alpha/beta for the last several releases. Shame because I've tried MOBAs before but perceived the learning curve to be too steep to do more than play a couple matches and then run away. From all reports this sounds much more approachable

Sound like me, 2 of my friends I play MOBAs with got invited yesterday. I am the one that carries them normally, so they have yet to play it because they want to wait for me lol.

FYI because I didnt notice but the friend invites only show in the HOTS screen and not the general one like others have.

Just added a few of you when I noticed

I can start a running list of battletags in the op. I do believe the game is not fully integrated into blizzard servers; you have to add people to your friends list in the hots client even though they may already be on your battlenet friends list. You also get bonus xp if you're in a party with someone on your friend's list.

This is true. None of my BNet friends show up in HOTS. Since I use the launcher people can send me a message and get me in game.

Watching ZP do a 5man stack w/ draft against another 5man stack makes me wonder if this game has more strategic depth than even I (aka the #1 hots fanboy on the board) give the game credit

Don't you draft a team before the game starts? Or is there some kind of captains mode in this?

There isn't CM in the game yet. You just set up a chat for the two teams and do a manual CM. You then both queue at the same time and there is an extremely high chance your two stacks will face one another.

In "normal queue" you also don't do a pre-draft like All Pick or anything. You queue as a hero and you just get 4 random people. I wish they tried to make better teams like attempting to have 1 tank/1 support per team. But AFAIK it doesn't do anything like that. I think they said when they get a larger player pool they'll probably look into it.

Xaldren#1414 here.

I forgot about the whole wiping business. Kinda sucks that the xp isn't going to roll over into beta/live. I don't think that's going to stop me from playing though since there are a lot of nuances in learning the heroes.

The only real issue with wipes is it takes at least a full day of playing to get up to unlocking all the talents. Which is tedious.

Regarding matchmaking:

Rules have been added to help encourage the matchmaker to create well-rounded team compositions. These rules are as follows:
No more than 3 Warriors.
No more than 4 Assassins.
No more than 2 Support.
No more than 2 Specialists.
No more than 3 Melee heroes.
Please note that this does not prevent full parties from using any composition they prefer.
Team compositions which fall outside of the rules above can still be formed with partial parties.
For example: A three person party that enters the queue as 3 Support heroes is allowed, but will not be grouped with any more Supports.
If a party has spent longer than 6 minutes in the matchmaking queue, the team composition rules may be broken in order to find a match.

Doesn't take that long, or well, guess it depends on your definition of day, takes like 4-5hours to get to lvl 8 iirc, less so if it's during a weekend.
