I duno about you the kickstarter is still going... so they can give out kickstarter rewards still?
If the pro player doesn't like it, the pro player can switch tiers, and really they *haven't* offered the exclusive pro player reward to the others. If this was offering the exclusive pro player reward, then so is the "3 free drafts" reward in one of the other stretch goals. This is just "52 free drafts", non-stacking. Unless the game crashes and burns, pro-player is still a gigantic improvement over the year of free drafting. Hell, if Magic had done something like this, I would have had 20 years worth of booster drafts (not that booster drafting was even a glimmer in anyone's eye when Alpha hit). The argument isn't hard. I made it clearly and concisely. They said they wouldn't make the kickstarter rewards available through other means leading people to believe that what they were buying into was actually exclusive. It took them all of... 14? ... days to go the other direction with that. It now take a pro player one full year to realize the advantage they bought over the $250 tiers. If the PVE "loot" includes PVP cards/tournament credit/wahetever, then they lost out double.
Yes they can and they can certainly change them up however they see fit. Nothing is charged to you until it funds which means you also have the ability to change your pledge at anytime (even multiple times).I duno about you the kickstarter is still going... so they can give out kickstarter rewards still?
Of course, everything is a matter of degrees. 3 free drafts != a year of free drafts != a lifetime of free drafts. That doesn't mean there isn't shades of grey to it. I can just as easily play it the other way. If raid leader had gotten 10 years of free drafts, would you feel any different? They absolutely, 100% did make an about face on that promise. If the pro player doesn't like it, the pro player can switch tiers, and really they *haven't* offered the exclusive pro player reward to the others. ...
Like I've mentioned a couple of times, I don't like it, but it's not the same thing as them promptly about facing on their promise of exclusivity.
If you think about it for a minute the other tiers getting a year of free drafts will encourage more people to pledge and more people pledging only increases your long-term investment in the Pro Player tier as you continue to get more free drafts. Giving other tiers 10 years of free drafts would be far in excess of the goal of encouraging people to pledge to the kickstarter.Of course, everything is a matter of degrees. 3 free drafts != a year of free drafts != a lifetime of free drafts. And, please, stop with the love-it-or-leave-it bullshit. It's perfectly acceptable for a person who took the pro player tier to voice their displeasure.
Of course. You're welcome to be pissed, by all means. I even mentioned in my original post that if I were just a pro player, I'd be a bit rankled myself. I don't think that there's much question that the *perceived* value of the pro-player tier dropped a little because of this change, if just in comparison. Its actual value of course, changed not at all, and I think we can all agree that it certainly was and probably still is, far and away the best of the 250$ tiers.Of course, everything is a matter of degrees. 3 free drafts != a year of free drafts != a lifetime of free drafts. What non-kickstarter means are there for getting exclusive rewards ?They said they wouldn't make the kickstarter rewards available through other means leading people to believe that what they were buying into was actually exclusive. Paypal donation thing, you get the same rewards. What non-kickstarter means are there for getting exclusive rewards ?
Heh, should we be concerned that both the boss and the lead designer are terrible at their own game ? ;pThis is what the Twitch stream should have been. Good content in this demo.

Where have you seen 3 pieces of equipment per card in the interface? All of the spoiled cards have only had two attached to them, I'm pretty sure. The only time I can recall seeing 3 pieces of equipment for a card is in the example of 3 set pieces unlocking a set only card, and that's a slightly different case. Curious if I misremembered something though.Heh, should we be concerned that both the boss and the lead designer are terrible at their own game ? ;p
Interesting that the interface shows 3 pieces of equipment per card, not 2. I wonder if it's going up and the cards are behind, or going down and the UI is behind.
From the video I quoted - after he finishes his game, he tools about in the deck builder for a bit, and each card has three equipment iconsWhere have you seen 3 pieces of equipment per card in the interface? It is not necessarily a bad thing. I rather them work around a proven infrastructure and balance/innovate around that rather than start from scratch and fail miserably.Video was hilarious. Both were using MTG terms and one of the cards was called murder with the same casting cost and text on the card as the magic one and the color was Blackood. I'll probably stick with the pro player tier, but it seems less likely to be easy to resell to get my money back if I don't like the game.
Still looking forward to this... but really hoping that they start to branch out a bit and we see some interesting new things. Thus far it has basically been "Magic, but with different words because those are trademarked!" demos.
