Hololive - Vtuber Thread.

The VTuber thing has interested me since I became aware of CodeMiko, but I simply can't trust most content these days of "cute" girl avatars and digitally modified voices. Too many trannies out there using the extra layer of obfuscation to hide their stubble and/or bulges. The world we live in is both scary and sad.

Probably part of the reason why people follow the corporate vtubers more easily - they investigate the applicants pretty hard.
A lot of trannies actually out themselves from the get-go because the mutant community supports them and its the road to some easy viewership (doesn't last long).
Any that try to hide get found out pretty quick.

Yeah, main reason I stick with Hololive is they are all hardcore vetted. Outside of Hololive I'll check out former Hololive and a couple of the Vshojo mainly Ironmouse and Henya, but not too much.

Unless you're a hardcore parasocial/simp type, what does it matter? If someone is entertaining, watch them. If you find out they're a dickchopper, move on.
Also I'd say it's quite a bit harder for a dude to pretend to be a chick as a vtuber than it is to just do it on a forum. It's like that one pic of an obvious dickchopper looming over a much smaller woman, a dude in a dress is still obviously a dude. AFAIK the only dude who has ever had long term success pretending to be a chick as a vtuber is Zentreya.

it's about the attempt at dishonesty. If you're a dude and you're pretending to be a girl, it's pretty shitty of you to try and lead people on as if you were a girl. Wasn't cool in vidya games; isn't cool in youtube videos. It's definitely not about simping; it's about the concept that someone is inherently trying to deceive you. Like all those catgirls/etc avatars/vtubers that are fat broads IRL. It's inherently dishonest. Unless you are upfront about said dishonesty, in which case it is acting. I don't think most vtubers start with "I'm actually a 240lb woman and absolutely not even a remote analog to the 'hot' anime girl I am portraying." - They absolutely should, but they aren't. It's an obfuscation and inherently deceptive.
Otherwise... why are you creating a 'hot' anime avatar in the first place? Why do that? Why not just pick something that isn't intended to be somewhat titillating? Oh, it's because the point is to deceive people and be titillating.

Zentraya used text to speech and did it early enough it worked for them. I couldn't listen to that at all really.

I'd just like to declare, for honesty, that though I am around the same age as my profile pictures (> 50), my elf blood is thin. So my hair is turning a bit grey, and I'm getting a bit fat, and blind.
I wonder who will sing take-me-out-to-the-ballgame this year?
BTW they are also doing a cosplay first pitch thing with Emiru tomorrow. She's not a vtuber but a normal streamer. I know her from the hardcore world of warcraft streamer gang that Vei's boyfriend runs.

I am 51 bro. I was also very anti vtuber at the start, but COVID got me interested in them through clips. They are just more authentic to me than live female streamers.
