Yeah major storm tore through. Lasted all of an hour but we got nearly instant 60mph winds. It's a HUGE tree from the neighbors yard. This is just one of the limbs..

$4k for tree company to remove it. Insurance claim opened obviously.

The pool damage is possibly substantial. One "panel" the top got crushed down and the side is bent outward. Also it's leaking, I think from a hose but will reassess.

Fuck my life

Sticking with dewalt myself, so far only one impact failed (the compact one, normal one has been fine)and I beat the shit out of them daily in nasty environments.
Co-worker using Milwaukee and same, I do like his impact better because it is lighter and the battery is smaller. Pick a battery economy and stick with it they all expensive as fuck.

I started out with some black and decker stuff that I got as a gift but it was crap and quit working after a couple of years plus the lithium batteries were coming out so I did research and at the time decided that Makita were the best so I bought their starter kit. Now I probably have 20 tools and 8 or 10 batteries. I also convinced my brother to go Makita (he was DeWalt before that but only I had a few tools so he's got quite a few Makita tools as well and we pool them. 15 years later I find myself occasionally coveting Milwaukee but not nearly enough to switch over.

All my battery stuff is Ridgid and will probably stay that way for the foreseeable future. Everything is very comfortable to use and has never had an issue so no major reason to change. Even their little battery circular saw I use more than my tethered Makita. That thing is nice. My tethered stuff is Makita for whatever reason. Probably b/c the 1st circular saw I got was one.

In other news, probably going to have to replace the double sink bathroom vanity in the kid's hallway bathroom. Just don't know if I want to do it now or wait for 2-3 years until we sell the house. Some pretty bad water damage under sink in the cabinet bottom. Honestly isn't worth changing now but is irritating. If I change it it'll probably get ruined again before we sell.
