The problem with the dragons on this show is that the way they use them is absolutely fucking stupid. For a recent example:
Why the fuck would you kill a dragon of a person who is just sad they failed and would easily bring the dragon to your side if forgiven?
Going back even further in episode 1 or 2 of this season when they basically use the dragons to kill a bunch of ships but then get greedy and get one killed like fucking morons because zero strategic capability is ever shown on this stupid show.

Dumbest fucking writing I've ever seen.

Great season. Sucks we have another 2 year wait to finish it up. Definitely will be a rushed final season with it being only 8 episodes again.

That was a much better season that season 2. As stated it sucks that it takes 2 years to make a season for this show.

Yeah, 2 years is a long time. I honestly decided to quit watching this show but then the somewhat positive posts here convinced me to binge S3 since I already was subscribing to HBO Max anyway and I'm not watching many other shows. I barely remembered what was going on though and I wasn't interested enough to try to watch recaps or anything so I only had a vague idea who everyone was and who was related to who and whatnot. In another 2 years it's hard to imagine being on the edge of my seat for anything that goes on even though I found this season somewhat enjoyable even though I didn't have a firm grasp on all the relationships etc.

Binged s3 and I liked it though pace was questionable (from episode 3 to 6) and some characters doing stupid stuff just for the plot going forward. I loved the siege attack though, absolutely brutal and fierce and in 2026 you still can show some innocent child being slaughtered for the sake of it.

I'm guessing the majority of the next 2 years is going to be spent on rendering the dragon battle scenes. Personally, I thought the CGI used in this season for the ones we did see were pretty good so I'm encouraged there.

Also, I know Balerion was old but is he still alive? And what about the Cannibal, whom we have yet to see. I mean, if we know the end game already, surely they have to make an appearance, right?

Balerion died of old age in 94 AC, 3 years before Rhaenyra was born. The Dance of Dragons starts in 129 AC. Cannibal was probably completely removed from the storyline because it's effectively pointless. Just a nuisance around Dragonstone. The "three wild dragons" were mentioned once by Daemon at the end of season 1, but Cannibal has never been referenced by name or anything else in the show as far as I can tell.

binged through, not great but not terrible. it reminds me of the american godzilla movies where you are super hyped whenever dragons are on screen and when they are not on screen it isn't great. myseria is one of the stupidest characters on TV, she is supposed to be the queens intelligence chief but literally delivers zero information. didn't know aegon is alive, sunfyre is back, who is riding sheepstealer, whats going on in tumbleton, anything going on with her seed riders, and it was LOL that rhaeny fucked her and immediately called an uber haha

anyways next season not for 2-3 years, maybe we'll get aegon the conqueror next
