How were they stretching things out to milk Harry Potter?
They weren't, I think you misunderstood my point. I was saying I hated that they split it up, but that it was at least understandable in their case. The ideal would have been to make the 2 movies, but released only 1-2 months apart instead. However, that doesn't make as much money.

The first two were at least somewhat entertaining. Not masterpieces by any means, but fun summer movies for all ages.

This one really was a nothing movie. I've never even picked up any of the books, so I have no idea how long any of them are in terms of page count, but I could just tell they were clearly stretching things out to milk the franchise. I hated it with harry potter, but it was at least somewhat understandable considering the book was like 800 pages or some shit, and there was enough going on that it only slightly sucked to have it end on a cliffhanger.

This one wasn't even a cliffhanger, there was no real arc to the movie at all.

Not to mention, wtf is wrong with her character? She's like the epitome of an overly emotional and irrational woman for the first 30 minutes of the movie. "I hate you! You didn't save peeta as well, even though it's totally understandable and I should be lucky that you even got me out, but I'm still going to hate you more then the people who put him into this in the first place! wait.. what's this? Oh, that's right.. the capitol is actually evil and killed everyone I know. lol, I keep forgetting, my bad! I'll totes be the face of your covergirl campaign."
ANY sane person would either want nothing to do with the way due to fear, or be royally pissed off enough to dive right into. Her reaction makes absolutely no sense at all.
It was the only part of the 2nd movie that I did not like. Her rage against the rebellion because they got Peter at the end of the movie. I thought about it though and realized that indeed a young person could still have that kind of emotional process. People blame doctors all the time for patients dying when in reality the patient was going to ...die. The problem I have with the actress is not her acting but her voice. When she starts to yell in a leading like fashion her voice is grating. Her voice always sounds like it is trying to find strength rather than show it. This is fine if you are leading a few people, but to suddenly be leading an entire resistance made up of 100's of thousands means you have to show strength at pretty much all times. I will watch it when it is free.

It was pretty boring. Lot's of dialogue and speeches. They are just setting up the next movie, which is lame. Julianne Moore was supposed to be boring as fuck to contrast Jennifer Lawrence's "fire". That shit failed miserably IMO. I just wanted her to get buried under rubble or something.

Aaaaand my girl loved it. I'm like WTF?

Some of the comments about Lawrence make it sound like she did not win an academy award and two golden globes...

She did though and is without a doubt an amazing actress.
I don't give out many negs, but you my friend, you need one.

The movie had an arc, it was just more subtle than the first two. I do appreciate the fact that even though it was more boring, it did help lend gravity to the world that the movie occupies and made it more realistic, so to speak. The overall arc was to cement that the hero is basically just a pawn in a chess match between two sides and any victories come at a personal price to her, because in the end she is just a tool and a means to an end.

The one thing I always appreciated about the book series is it didn't shy away from the cost of war, on the macro or micro scale. Seldom is there an easy split between right and wrong. Even the victors "lose", in a manner of speaking. Katniss is emotionally and physically destroyed by the end of the series and loses almost everything, even though she "won". This movie even mentions that it takes 10 times longer to rebuild a person than it takes to destroy them.

I think for part 2 to be effective, they did need to show most of everything they did in part 1. It doesn't make for much action, but I think emotionally it does do its job well in terms of helping support and enhancing the ultimate end to the film series.

Women love this shit - same for why they love vampire flicks and other tween shit that makes me roll my eyes

I couldn't help but roll my eyes at how fucking stupid they were militarily, the rest of the movie was unstomachable

This is the first movie I've seen in theaters in a very long time that I actually came away feeling I wasted my money. Even my wife disliked it. The 1st two movies are 100x better than this. Im sure you can completely skip this movie and go straight to part 2 without missing a beat. Absolutely nothing happened.

Part 2 would need a 10 second "previously" where they show clips of the 3 people being rescued, can literally skip everything else without losing any plot.

Didn't need 2 hours of "The Making Of: Crappy Propaganda" when everyone would be satisfied with a crappy porn shoot with JLaw over anything else they could offer.

I was talking with someone about how I didn't like the 2nd movie at all, and they were surprised.

Really, I just need to get around to writing a shitty teen series and have it get picked up for a movie and then I can retire.

Snowed in, cold as hell and this is on early digital release so figured what the hell why not.
My eyes, they are bleeding. Even seeing Seymour Hoffman( RIP ) and other actors I like , like Woody, Wright and so forth barely saved any value in it at all.
For those like me who actually pay for the movies and collect series. Wait for the discounted bin.

You collect movies you fucking hate? I think they got a name for that and it's hard to pronounce. Seek professional help.

Where did I ever say that? I collect series and movies with actors I like which this collection has a few, of which is not JLaw. The movie however is worse than the other 2.
Some reading comprehension would assist you in your journey to be relevant.

I don't mind putting on the other two from time to time as they're fun to watch/listen to with a couple exceptions, but this was a long and brutal/dark movie that I'm not sure I even want to watch again until just before the next is out.

It made your eyes bleed and yet you are hell bent on collecting it. I'm not really seeing any possibility of a reading comprehension fail. Maybe it was a writing fail. Or maybe you should seek professional help.

Or maybe you are too stupid to realize I wouldn't know it was worse than the other two until I watched it.
I would have eventually bought it regardless since I own the other two, which is why I told others to just wait on it.

He is advising others that if they normally buy movies such as this to wait until its almost free because the movie is crappy. He states he is typical a person who buys this type of movie (instead of watching if for free like most of us) so he can relate to the above mentioned train of though. At no point does he say he is going to buy this specific movie.

This movie sucked and you should not waste your bandwidth.

When Katniss shoots down the jet with her bow and arrow, it was the hardest I've laughed in a movie since the rape scene in Deliverance.

Well to be fair, it wasn't a regular bow and arrow. The scene earlier in the movie established that it was basically a tech-bow with different ammo types (explosive, etc).
