She already has the plates.

If you really get the title then obviously she either doesn't need the $350 bad enough to keep fucking with it or lied about the fine. She can't be expecting it, sending it out of the goodness of your heart is insane. Would be more interesting if she included a copy of paperwork/receipt from MVA showing that she had to pay it off like she claimed.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if this isn't over though, will be interesting to see how long you wait for this title. Living an hour away, using USPS, should get to you by Tuesday at worst, right?
She may have went to see a lawyer who told her to quit fucking around and send the title before she and her boyfriend get in more trouble.

Truth. I got my car from them last April. Found it on their website, had it shipped up to their local location from Maryland for 250$. 2006 fully loaded top model Nissan Sentra with 44,000 miles for 11,800, and for 1300 dollars I tacked on a 300 (250 if brought to carmax) dollar co-pay Full Warranty until 150,000 miles.

You paid 8300 in cash for your trainwreck. I put down 9k, and picked up 5K in financing through my bank. God forbid I accrued some debt and a 120$ car payment.

On the flip side I've also had good luck on craigslist. I've sold few things on there without incident. And bought my motorcycle on there, handed the guy the cash as he handed me Title and Bill of Sale. Oh and he already had taken his plates off.
I bought a car with CarMax back in 2003 when I first joined the Army. I hated having payments and vowed to never buy a car for more than I had again. We just sold that car, and I had about $10,000 cash saved up (we made "car payments" to an account just to save up for the next one).

I looked around and with interest rates so low, saw that there wasn't really a good reason not to buy new. Got a .99% interest rate on a total cost of like $21,000 (I think we did $6,500 down). The total interest I pay over the life of the loan is like fucking $300. How can you pass that shit up? The remaining $3,500 in our car fund we can use for like a year and a half of car payments.

Used car market is still pretty fucked. I was looking recently for a beater for my nephew and couldn't find anything. No one is selling the ones they have plus the fact that the cash for clunkers took a lot of the older cars off the market.

And yeah, if you have good credit you can get like zero percent financing on a lot of models. rates are really low atm.

I think new is the way to go simply because I refuse to deal with used car bullshit but don't kid yourself, even with 0% or paying in full with cash you are still taking a pretty serious haircut as soon as you drive it off the lot. There is a tradeoff unless you plan on driving it forever.

Just buy used from a certified dealership? Bought an 09' civic last year in February... it had an oil pan leak problem. Honda care covered it 100% and gave me a loaner car for the day. Hasn't even hiccuped since then.

No legal threats, 15 trips between cities, paying off shady loan sharks and hiding your ride at some friend's place like you stole it?

2/10, would not bang this story.

Yes, because this story is totally typical and that's why we didn't make it 350 posts long in a few days.

It's not my fault Szeth's story has sharp knees.

In fairness, my used car buying experience had cankles and is also not bangable.

I always buy new and finance 90% of my purchase in order to go into debt because that's the American way

With the interest rates the way they've been you're likely better off financing and investing your money anyway. Just because you get financing doesn't mean you're in debt.

Excellent thread! Would read again. You don't have any pic's of this "escort" chick by any chance? That would really
add to the story. Hopefully, the title is really sent so you can be done with the whole thing.

We have a pgt thread that I'm sure is much better than some wiggers whore gf. I'd be interested in finding out what you can get for that 350 though.

And carmax is great to buy cars from, but they will rip you off if you try to sell to them. They offered me 12.5k for my truck. Went on Craig's list and the next day had it sold (and lien paid off) for 19.5k to some fleet guys from Houston.
