I just finished Pre-suasion by Robert Cialdini. Now, note that 50% of social psychology experiments cannot be reproduced, but it's truly an eye opening book on how much bullshit goes on in decision making.

It talks about these things that go on before or during a conversation that can influence how you think and respond.

The stuff about the murder suspect testimony and hypnosis of the suspects was fascinating.

I strongly recommend it. It's now at the top of my favorite books, even above all the fiction ones.

You'd learn a ton more from a Intro to Communications 101 class . A worthy elective IMO.

NLP is pretty cool subject to dive into as well.
