This is like a pedo getting offended by people not properly using the right specific term for an age range sub legal. Related:

There were homoerotic undertones in Interview; the tension was there. You wouldn't describe sexual tension between two men unless it was homoerotic. One requires the other.

Making it include outright gay sex is adding something that wasn't in the books, and changes the tone drastically. Instead of a couple of hot immortals that goth girls cream themselves over while eating haagen dazs that occasionally give each other lingering glances, you have a couple of dudes poking each other in the asshole. Fat goth girls are not into that shit typically. They might be into some weird bisexual stuff but a couple of guys railing each other's shitboxes is not what arouses your average fairykin.

It's changing the target demographic from one that includes a lot of people to one that is going to interest some shitty subset of 3.5% of the populace as an upper limit. It's a retarded idea and I hope they lose a tremendous amount of money on it.

Before it releases, the reasons the media will claim it fails is because of anti-alphabet sentiments and probably racism because one of those dudes looks to be something other than white.

edit - Not sure why they need to make every vampire gay/bi or whatever these days. They did the same shit randomly to Alucard in the Castlevania animated series. It was entirely unnecessary and only upset people; nobody -liked- the change.
They also do it with all the versions of Dorian Grey. Same "rationale"... They get bored of women.

So in the Top Gun example, calling the volleyball scene "homoerotic" implies that ripped dudes playing volleyball in the sun is homoerotic because it is sexually titillating for homosexuals. Another misuse of the word.

...... that is literally exactly what the word means ?

didnt the plantation slaves revolt or something? its been a long time since i read the first book.
Yeah-- they revolted... burned the plantation to the ground.

But maybe, since these vampires are sexually competent, we can have lesbian vampires sixty-nining each other during their periods?

Louis was a plantation owner in the original story.
I replied to this thread twice and never even looked at the trailer or read the summary.

I ignored the conversation completely and just went about my business shitposting about Tom Cruise.

I must be tuning shit out. Not a good sign.

If I remember correctly, the slaves were well treated under Louis and liked him; it was only when they learned that he was a vampire (and was using his slaves as food) that they revolted and burned the plantation to the ground.

That was the 90s liberal trope.

"Yea he owned slaves, but he was NICE to them!"

I always thought, from Bram Stoker forward, that vampires were essentially an allegory for unchecked sexual pleasure, straight, gay, or otherwise, that leaves a person empty and constantly searching for more and more and drawing them into further and further depravity.

It seems like they did away with the allusions and just went full on homo. Good. I want people associating the Alphabet people with unholy spawn of Satan.

the thing with vampires is they are lustful, but because of their inability to reproduce or even use their sexual organs they are ony left with their charm and mouth for any kind of pleasure. if a vampire could fuck, then it would be a cake and eat it too type of thing. which just isnt possible when you are basically a reanimated corpse who needs blood to prevent you from returning from the grave. thats why Dracula needed a vampire bride. she was no good to him alive as she would grow old and die. if she were also a vampire then she would be around "forever" with him. it sucked for Dracula that he couldnt have her as a living woman, but what can he do. they didnt invent vampire Viagra yet.

Depends entirely which source you use as lore. Vampires in Blade? Yeah they could have children. Vampires in WoD? No, but you can be thin blooded and have high humanity and then you can kind of have sex and actually feel it, a little.

edit: but generally I think the idea is that they are dead and blood is the only thing they really want, they can seem lustful but its just a way to capture humans

traditionally, no. Rice didnt have vamps with working dicks. neither did any other vampire versions i ever heard of. but i havent followed vampires in a while, so who knows. the reason is as your body dies, so does your bodily functions. you cant eat, you cant drink anything but blood. you cant shit or fuck. the reason why you must drink blood is to keep yourself alive. so thats the tragedy. the tradeoff is that you live forever, but have to murder to do so every single day and you cant enjoy the benefits of being alive like eating a Mcdonalds #3 or fucking a big fat black woman named Kamisha
