Terrible results. Either analysts screwed the pooch biggly (always possible) or more than likely things are about to get quite shitty in the market.

PYPL getting pummeled because their CFO leaves to take the CFO job at WMT. Somehow this is worth a 5% drop? Welcome to today's algo driven market.

I was. Sold out and took profits a week or two ago. Waiting for it to come back down to earth and re-enter.

Tech getting bids leading with semis, interesting 🤔.

Might be time for tqqq.

I can only assume from that massive spike yesterday for CPI there is interest in a reversal we just need anything to justify it.

Dunno about you guys but I'm about to dump the next 10k into ibonds for this year - just to make sure I'm understanding right, if i buy before May i get 6months at the previous rate of 7.x% and then the next 6 months will be at "new" rates which will be based off the latest 8.5% inflation numbers right? So essentially i'd be locking in a 1 year return of 8%'ish?

Yep. 9.62% is the next variable rate.

I have been in meetings all day. Any reason for the green today besides "who the fuck knows"? Did someone tweet something like inflation is transitory?

I’d rather have my money in stocks than cash with cash being printed fast and companies buying back their stock at the same time.

15:30 (US) Fed's Waller (hawk, voter): Inflation data was high and we knew it would be; Data supports 50 basis point hike in May,and maybe more in June and July; Believe we are at peak inflation - CNBC
- I am forecasting we are pretty much at the peak of inflation and March core CPI reading suggested that
- We need to get above neutral by later this year
- Do expect higher mortgage rates to have bite on how much people can pay push prices lower in coming months
- We can pull back demand for labor and not have a big impact on jobs; We can get prices down without causing a recession
- We have no control of supply, can only affect demand; Fed can't fix the supply chain; We can push down demand
- We are not in a 'Volcker moment'
- This is a good time for aggressive actions by the Fed because the economy can take it

Uranium miners are running. I would watch this, nuclear is making a comeback. Low carbon baseload energy and now countries need reactors for energy security.
