Gents, I keep seeing things about these new Trump Accounts, i.e. Custodial IRAs for kids. Is there any reason to do the Trump one over just one at Vanguard? Has anyone else set up an IRA for their kids anyways?
The way I understand it, is basically it’s just an IRA for your kids. Money can’t be withdrawn until they’re 18, but then from 18 until retirement age you still have the withdrawal penalty. The only thing that’s different about it is that if your kid is born between 2025 and 2028. The government will add $1000 as an initial deposit.Gents, I keep seeing things about these new Trump Accounts, i.e. Custodial IRAs for kids. The only other benefit I can see from it, is you can contribute to basically an IRA for kids without earned income. The money you're putting in is after tax, so when it comes out it wont be taxed, but the gains will be taxed as regular income.

The only angle I’ve found for is to max it out then can do massive Roth conversions when they’re independent but I haven’t run the numbers too deeply.Gents, I keep seeing things about these new Trump Accounts, i.e. Custodial IRAs for kids. Sitting at $60/sh at the close. This was $142/sh just 5 months ago.
Going to take advantage of this dip and just bought a 1 year call on spcx. First time buying long calls but the advantage is it limits how much capital is tied up versus owning the stock. Went with the 100 strike at 80 delta which means the call moves 80 cents for every dollar the stock moves.
actually not a terrible idea. Is your goal to hope and buy the stock at a discount as the year moves along or would you sell the calls at whatever profit you think is good? Basically are you hoping to get in cheap for the long haul if things go well or just a pure profit play?
