I think he means the Pantheon in Rome. Being turned into a church probably saved it from being razed. One of the best sights in Rome imo, it's really, really old but not a ruin, but is also structurally largely original. There's something about gazing at a domed roof that's been there for nearly 2000 years.

It’s the fact that the dome is one solid piece that blew my mind. I was looking for seams and couldn’t find any and it was tripping me the fuck out. Got back to our hotel room, opened up a search, and yeah that dome is one solid piece weighing close to 5000t.

Fucking unreal what they used to do, blows the mind.

Catacombs were okay but kinda meh.
Bone crypts were gnarly as fuck.
Coliseum was awesome.

On our last day we got tattoos. Wife got a Medusa, I got a symbol of Hephaestus on one arm and a symbol of Vulcan on the other.

Overall rating for our trip to Rome : 9/10 and I recommend it for anyone as irresponsible with money as we are.

At least it survived. Mussolini had an ancient Roman fountain near the colleseum destroyed because it was in the way of a parade he had planned
