Yeah, they really should have just had her say "My Mom can keep the baby for another day" or something but it's not exactly hard to explain.

Again, this is me being stupid.

But she mentioned earlier IN THE same episode, how she has to arrange her working schedule around being a single mom with a kid. (And she adjusts to the kid, so can't preschedule blah blah)

Of course there are 100 ways they could have written the baby out for a while, but they didn't and silly things like that show my nerd idiot side.

In the end, the kid (And basically the rich/not rich mom that somehow has never served or knows very much about oil even though banging all the oil peeps) don't need to be in the story.
Not to bring up how "tight" the family was supposed to be, hanging at the house a ton...and yet we haven't seen any of them since they completed their part in hooking up oil boy.

For every 1 cool thing this show has, there are like 10 maddening things that could have easily been fixed.

Easy for me to say, I don't work in the entertainment industry...but still...I am bitching.

Thanks for listening to my TED talk

never apologize for pointing out bad writing, the moment we have real AI that isn't just regurgitating libtard reddit fanfic most of the hacks in those writing rooms will be on the street sucking dick for rent money.

Every day we get closer and closer to idiocracy most people are too stupid to understand plot holes or think you're being stupid for pointing them out

You're right. I missed that entire thing when I made my response. Sad when there are pretty big contradictions in shows like this.

Worse when they're with the characters we don't even like.

Why was the best shift at the bar available if it is so lucrative? She the only chick in town willing to show some tit for cash?

I apologize, as I was going to hold off on any more criticism until the finale....

I cannot believe this is bugging me all week, and I took time to post it here.....but...

Lady works full shift all nighter at bar...
Lady goes all day to funeral 500 miles away...who knows
Lady spends all night rebanging the new millionaire on/off boytoy....

The baby?

Lazy writing...
I mean…has new born, has abs…those two don’t go together.

I'm sorry, do you WANT to see more of a crying baby getting in the way of scenes?

Even forgetting the multimillion dollar settlement that they memory holed, she's working a well paying job now, she can afford a babysitter.

I agree that its realistic and all that; FFS shes a Mexican living in a Mexican neighborhood with all her Mexican extended family.

But with that said - if you're a new mother with a newborn baby, and your baby just lost its daddy, and you just got a few million dollars windfall... but you still decide to spend all your time fucking bartending instead of breastfeeding, you just might be a shallow selfish bitch.

They didn't get any money. The kid just assumed that they were going to. A hot girl bartending in the oil patch can probably make as much in a night as she would all week as a checker at Walmart.

This episode wasn't bad, but every single time that fucking son or that Mexican chick had a scene the whole thing dragged down massively. He's just a giant fuckup and I hate everything about that storyline.

I dunno, I thought they had some whole scene where he got all clever out of nowhere and somehow outmaneuvered the lawyers?

I was sure they did but I really don't want to go back and rewatch any of their scenes to confirm.

I concede that if she didnt just get a few million dollars windfall I would have to interpret her bartending behavior as more reasonable.

Same, and if that's not the case, well the people making this show really fucked that whole thing up because it seems like everyone was under the same assumption. So whatever they were trying to show they absolutely failed at.

I will shut up about the baby goof as I have made my silly point.
But, Gravel makes a good point about all the holes in plot and dialog.

It's like they are rewriting it on the fly, last season had it's issues but they are more glaring this season.

Either way, I am going to finish this stupid show.

Edit: I also suck at quote inserts.

His dad bought out the cartel guy and told the kid he would give him a job as a land man. The kid even says "I get nothing?" and Billy Bob tells him "You were never going to get anything". He said land men get $9000 a month which is probably similar to what a roughneck makes but they have the chance to make more if they perform.

Youre talking about the kids deal buying wells.

I'm talking about the settlement the Mexican chick got for her husband getting killed.

No one knows what happened with the money. Its a big talking point I see in reviews. Its like the writers forgot that she received that. But she also plays up the strong woman card a lot so is probably trying to make a point that she will grind a shitty overnight bartending job if she has to so she can provide and not need Cooper.
