The son negotiated a 1 million payout instead of the 250k they were initially offering. But yeah, they just kind of handwaved it.

I guess we're supposed to "assume" she doesn't care about money, hence why she told Cooper to fuck off when he told her of his windfall. But then what's the point of all the bartending shit? And what was the point of the negotiating in the first place if that's the case? Her storyline is a mess.

Well all your complaints got answered. We got the baby, explanations about his care, why the girl works after the settlement, and what the fuck is going on with those two. Grats I guess.

Kind of jarring seeing the asshole side of Sam but also probably necessary since there had to be a reason Tommy and him weren't on good terms. Could see the geologist coming from a mile away. The only prediction I didn't get right was I thought for sure Taylor would put himself/Travis in the horse show scene.

Yeah, this is proof the writers read these forums. lol

It was meh explanation but it does at least settle the small things, so no more bitching from me.
(About that subject, I don't even want to bother with the Geologist story)

BBT and Sam killed it again in this episode.

Also I dont know if you know this but entire seasons are kind of filmed not always in chronological order sometimes scenes are moved during post production to different episodes.

Clearly the exposition scene of her explaining about the baby and the money was supposed to occur in the same episode or at least simultaneously as him going to visit her dad to ask for permission but they were moved to different episodes, probably due to pacing since that episode would have then been almost entirely the son and Mexican girls storylines had they left it as is.

I agree it happened about an episode too late which is why the audience was questioning what was going on with the baby and the money but also they have to consider that would have been Hella too early for the whole "break up, just kidding we're back together actually let's get married"

I was thinking the same thing. The scene with the grandma might as well have started with one of them saying "Okay, let's address the questions people on firesofheaven.org have about this situation." They even addressed the difference in attractiveness because she said something like "I know it's love because skinny, stray dog looking white boys aren't my type." And then Ainsley also expressed disbelief that an actual woman could be attracted to her brother.

With regard to the million dollars being set aside, that rings true to me because my Mom had a total meltdown in the insurance office when she went to get my Dad's life insurance check. It was only $100k but she said it felt like she had sold him or something. She actually gave the money away shortly after she got it and she's definitely not in a financial position to be giving away $100k so the idea of a widow feeling guilty about settlement money isn't that strange I guess.

I actually lol'd when the mom said his pheromones are repulsive to her because nature doesn't want incest and 6 fingered kids.

Putting the money aside for the kid is hardly a strange reaction either given the circumstances.

Putting the money aside "for the kid".

How about actually spending time raising your infant, for the kid?

I'm not even saying "its not realistic, she wouldnt do that". Modern women are fucking broken, and if modern men find her decision sensible, then modern men are broken too. These are the actions of a shallow, self-centered bitch.

Use some of the money to support yourself while raising your newborn baby. You'll have time enough to get a job when he's grown up a little, at the very least wait til hes stopped breastfeeding, mrs. "I'm a millionaire but I need to bartend to make ends meet".

Yeah, I'm the first person to ever criticize a characters behavior on a TV show and its because I "don't realize its not real". Stunning insight

They accidentally included a shot of an oil pump in the episode today, so it almost had something to do with oil/drilling

They were very close to having next season in the ocean, but the two lawyers decided to go with the first option. But it’s good they decided not to early on or drug man would have had no part.

The Fort Worth locations they show in here are pretty cool. The mexican girl storyline sucks.

29 year old lawyer would never be in charge of anything or around anybody in charge of anything. I'm around the decision makers of big companies at times and it's always old dudes.

I assume the oil & gas stuff is just as retarded as the law stuff in any law-related show. Pretty fucking retarded.

I can add that the ranching stuff in Yellowstone was also pretty fucking retarded.
