I'm caught up with Hell Difficulty Tutorial now, and yeah ok, you guys win. I like it. He's much more tolerable now, and I'm glad I read it. Looking forward to many more.

Started the latest Path of Ascension book but now they are getting into politics and shit, and I don't even want to pick it up. Also not too thrilled about HWFWM. Everything else I look forward to is in-between books right now, so looking for the next big thing.

Speaking of series that I'm over, I got a few questions for the one person still reading Defiance of the Fall (@Tuco ). It isn't anything major, but I'll spoiler it anyway just in case someone else is still reading it.

That demon chick that turned into his shield (forget her name), did she ever come back to life? There was some stuff a few books ago where the shield evolved and maybe ate some people/materials and then went to sleep, but has anything ever really come of that other than being shield-ier?

Same with the love interest chick from way back in the day, the one where she got killed but then his fans bitched about fridging and he brought her back but put her on a planet ruled by some crazy fucks. Did she ever return, or is she still in limbo somewhere being ignored too?

I could ask about the other characters (main demon dude from the first book was always a favorite of mine) but I realized this author really doesn't give a fuck about anything but navel gazing, and any character is basically there to temporarily provide a boost to his navel gazing and then be forgotten. Has anything happened with any of the side characters worth a shit? I'm never going to read it so spoil away if you want. Thanks!
Hell Difficulty- One of the very few series that has me earnestly waiting for the next book.

Defiance - I just reread the first 9 books since I have plenty of downtime in between grouse hunting and trail clearing since I take most of October off from work. Basically, I couldn't do another thing, lets plow through a book and see if I like it more this time. Honestly, I do. I'm curious about the same things, maybe I'll bite the bullet and see where it goes.

There is far too many mid fight revelations and I don't think the author really has a clue about what makes someone a badass, but he tries. He also thinks being afraid of his power is the same as fearing your choices because you know you are crossing a clear line. It makes him less interesting. In addition he really tries to make sure most of the powerful people are women for some reason other than the main character. Plus dao bullshit.
