I've never seen one. Think the best I got was one for 1k? Usually I get nothing, and maybe every 5th I get an extra 100g.

Since I can’t settle on a main long term, hit 1400 on my scrapper, glaivier, and destroyer this weekend. Obviously “behind” overall since I’m not Valtan ready yet, but still pleased. And now I see all these posts about an Ironman class, look it up on YouTube, and fml.

At least in a very alt based game, a lot of the classes are fun and unique.

I have decided to just hold at 1420 and work my ALTS up. The % for honing beyond 1415 is just not very fun for me. I like seeing progress in bigger chunks. ALTS allow for that kind of play. Besides, I can just get them all around 1415 and then be set for when they do add more ways to hone or a higher %.

Yeah alts do play very differently, but it can still be a little frustrating to get a feel for how they ultimately play until way late in the game. Skill points, levels, gear, and gems drastically change how they play and how they feel. Some shit feels clunky but once you get enough swiftness or cooldowns allow the classes to really come into their own.

I feel like I have made semi decent progress and have knocked out a decent bit of horizontal progress, just finally unlocked the last of the skill points with the 8th ignea which the rapport is honestly a fucking never ending slog of total ass.

I am not really sure what to focus on next. I am close to having my Paladin alt to 1400 and am I tempted to push it to 1415 to open up another character to do Valtan, although it might be cheaper and more profitable to simply get more character to that 1370 break point.

I keep sitting on this Feiton Powerpass but I have to decide on something before the end of June, right now I am very tempted to make a bard just because how sought after supports are in the game at the moment. I am really not overly impressed with the Lance Master and it makes me hesitant to try out the Hammerfag but a lot of people make it sound pretty fun.

When it comes to pushing characters at this point my biggest bottleneck is either shards, or crystals, surprisingly Leap stones haven't been much of an issue since I usually do Una's weeklys and dailies for them, and I sell the ones from the guardians to keep a steady gold income but I don't know a good place to get stones unless I want to piss away extra pirate coins, sadly buying them with blue crystals is one of the worst price exchanges and blow ass.

It really does make you feel stupid to run into bottlenecks when so many others are either credit card swiping or botting 24 hours a day with stacks and stacks of shit from endless chaos. The fucking steam charts have shown the game increasing by almost 200k players in the last 30 days and we know damn well this pay 2 win, bot infested aids game isn't getting new players. Shit if you rolled up as a new player today and walked through the garden of bots you'd uninstall.

Combat is still fun, group content is still fun, it defiantly is better than Diablo 3, the gearing in general is a little shallow but it isn't horrible. It's really sad how badly Amazon is handling things even moreso for those of you experiencing queues to even log in. It's a decent game that could be an amazing one with a little bit of care from the people running the show.

i'd say it's definitely worth it to get your 1340's to 1370, they pay for themselves in about one week of hard abyss+nightfoxes+p1 argos.

then work on either getting your pally to 1415 to do a second valtan (but then you miss out on abyss hard income) or push your DPS to 1400 to do P3 argos

I think i'd wait on pushing 1460 for vykas until she is at least announced in the roadmap, which all signs are pointing to tomorrow.

Yeah but that 1340-1370 dead zone is pure ass. I need to do South Vern on a couple of characters and that gives a decent bit of materials and card packs but I haven't been in a rush to do more story line on alts. Doing the shit ass Punika an 8th time is probably the biggest deterrent for me rolling up more alts as well.

I'm getting to the point of "why?"

I've started to let all my alts rested bonuses pile up because the daily content just isn't fun anymore. I've stopped doing islands because, well, the RNG on them is so piss poor I just get annoyed. Heck, I haven't even run any abyss this week. I'm almost done all the Unas, which means every character is running Lopang for silver I don't care about, or that stupid fucking Yorn chest one where I'm at 50 attempts with nothing to show for it. Oh, and there's rapport where I can make 0.05% progress per day.

I get basically one hone attempt on my main per day and that's just a frustrating failure every time. I've got probably 3 more weeks of Valtan to make a single piece of gear, so that's a bummer too. All the while bots are just running rampant.

It's the same complaint I made a few months ago, but the most fun content is gated to be the stuff you can do the most infrequently. And the grindy shit that no one enjoys is all that's left to do daily. I don't want to quit, but they're making it hard to stay engaged.

That is why I gravitated back to my ALTS. As I said, I like to actually see progress when I play a game that has some sort of leveling or increasing of a stat. The problem with Honing is that you do not see an increase when you fail. As you get higher up in Ilevel, those failures become much more pronounced. They should have just created a simple system where your stats always went up every attempt, but as you got higher, the increments decreased. At least then, you would see something for every attempt. The thing is, they want to make money and so they prefer the lottery system. They have a pity system but it gets worse as you get higher.

A simple understanding of how to put the situation the game creates in a better light is to ask yourself, "Would you continue playing this game if it did not have the pity system"? I imagine most people would have quit long ago without a pity system. Its that little system that keeps what player base they still have still playing the game. Its a brilliant control mechanism.

Oh, I 100% would have quit a while ago. BDO's system is what caused me to quit that one. Blowing up accessories because you failed, or losing a level on regular gear, is dog shit.

I have only heard of the BDO system since I never played it but yeah what you guys describe explains why it failed. The Korean mindset for these kind of games is full blown retarded.

Also the RNG on the adventure islands that are randomly selected in a very limited time gate window only to drop jack and shit. Yeah that isn't worth the effort really at all. They should fire whoever came up with that idea.

It's awful. Imagine if instead of just getting a failure on honing after +15, it dropped to +14. So you'd get enough mats to +15 again and then try for +16. Each successive hone becomes more difficult, but also every failure drops one level. It feels terrible.

Worse though is accessories. Instead of having say, rarities of accessories like Lost Ark (green, blue, purple, yellow, orange), each attempt to get the next tier up required two of the same one. If you fail, it blows them both up. So you get a +3 and try for +4 and fail, start from scratch.

It's actually backwards progress. At least here you don't get less powerful if you have bad luck.

This is why I can tolerate this system. It might be frustrating, but it justs rng, like any MMO. The only bad thing is there is drop rng a long with upgrade rng. Instead of just drop rng in a typical MMO. But if I treat honing like drop chance also, I can push through. As in a typical MMO, I could go weeks and even months without an upgrade.

But after games like BDO, AA, Tera and such, this upgrade system is super forgiving and casual. Why eastern gamers love these types of systems I will never know though. But it wont change for NA, since they are all made for the east first.

Yah I really dont get the hate for the honing system, its the exact same as a trinket having a 3% drop rate in a WoW raid. Often times i wouldnt even see one drop in era and it was by far the highest dps increase my character could look for. At least this system you can see the progress improving (in terms of both % to succeed as well as % progress to pity). You just cant expect to one to five-tap every piece and it feels fine. Pity feels awful for sure, but the same thing can happen in any MMO.

The grind is what keeps people playing the game.

The honing system is just what it is. Sure it's lame and gay but they introduce you to it right off the bat in this game, getting really bad RNG streaks though is bullshit and for every 1 tap winner there are 10 pity losers, the house always win in Casino gayness.

The problem is everything in this game is an all you can eat RNG fuck fiesta.

Adventure Islands = RNG
Honing = RNG
Crafting food items = RNG sometimes multipule layer RNG to really get fucked while you're getting fucked
Omnium Stars = RNG
Ability Runes = RNG

A certain level of it is expected online games these days, but Lost Ark pushes it to the extreme that they can get away with. It's like testing what the average persons breaking point is and stopping just short.

Still all these things could be resolved with minor tweaks and improvements, but the #1 issue they have to resolve before it crushes the entire game is the Bot/RMT problems that have already busted the economies of this game.

You're not locked out of doing content by not having the trinket drop.
