I cannot stop telling people IRL that things are "mediocre." And I'm the only one that gets the joke!
I am in the same boat.

Also, I wish this gif was bigger.

I went and saw this last night. Walked out early and got my money back. I personally didn't see what all the rave reviews were. The movie was "cool looking shit and sound porn. That's about it. There was very little substance.

Walking through the desert and it loudly amplifies the steps while showing some really cool shit. That's the extent of the movie. Am disappoint.

after get the gringo and some other movies recently... I am kinda sad Mel didn't play Max...it would have been great imo, jus the timing of when this all started up was the big "bad PR Mel" time sadly so they kind of avoided him.
Bad Mel PR time?

So the last 15 years?

I'm sorry, I legitimately WANTED to like this movie. Hell, I love action films. My issue is the lack of anything else. I wasn't able to shut my brain off that much, I guess. I was even midly buzzed when I saw it, so that shouldn't have been an issue!
Yes, the movie both looked and sounded cool, but that's ALL it had going for it. I'm one of those weirdos that actually likes a plot.

I'm sorry for having failed all of you and not living up to the board hype.

To whoever negged me for being rich, I'm not. I just built all that myself, saving money up each paycheck. Spent years serving in the US Army and then working and saving money. It adds up over time.

I got some more work done last night on the new speakers. Tell me to fuck off if you don't want me to shit up this thread anymore.

You missed the plot?

Maybe you wanted more romance?

I though that was a prop from the movie lol.

Home theater post are great but they may be lost in this thread as the movie is no longer discussed. Perhaps post more details in the tv/home theater thread. Looks sweet!

At what part did you leave? Hard to take your comments seriously when you admit to not watching it all.

I loved it!

Which would have fit in just fine. Now that you bring it up I'm irked by their exclusion.

The last part of the movie that I saw was when the paint huffing guy used a winch to pull the semi out of the swampy desert.

I guess my biggest complaint about the movie was they tried to make every scene into a Holy shit moment. It was an entire movie of "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" spliced with the Matrix elevator scene spliced with 300's kicking the guy down the endless well. Yes, each scene looks incredible as a stand alone, but endlessly spliced together with other "holy shit!" scenes, it's really overwhelming and took away from my experience. I stopped caring at all right around the fight with the spikey hedgehog vehicles.

The holy shit stuff wasn't as good in the end as the beginning. The war boys as main characters in the beginning were great. They fall into the background completely in the end.

Nox was pretty fun throughout. Hopefully they are still in the next one.

The movie had a plot and had character development with character arcs. All this was also happening while the movie was a fucking awesome 2 hour chase demolition derby. In fact, it had more plot and character development than pretty much any recent action movie I can think of. That is one of the many reasons this movie was so good.
