I am a pretty huge fan of the original and fairly skeptical about this one. That being said all the trailers look decent, I hope its not awful.

Oh come on, Thunderdome was fucking awesome.

You've got the wrong colored glasses on. That shit was aimed at 12-15 year old boys and it was PERFECT. It didn't make any god damn sense, who gives a shit.

WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER HEEEEEEERO.

#2 was the best apoca-porn. Road Warrior. So good. #1 was just fucking weird, dude. Watch it again. Serious. It's just weird. Not bad... just weird.

looks like a much cleaner version of Road Warrior. which while quite beautifully filmed may not be a plus in regards to the desperation and grittiness of the original Road Warrior . they got the batshit crazy right though. Tom Hardy is a good choice for Max. i am willing to give the trailer a pass because they edited it to appeal to a more mainstream audience.
for comparison.

Mad Max 1 was weird but fun.
Mad Max 2 is like the godfather of all post-apocalipt movies. Best thing ever.
Thunderdome was dumb.

This one.....i dont know. If they make it pg-13, go fuck yourselves. Not going to watch it

It's been confirmed to be pg-13. Why can't filmmakers secure ratings that their material deserves?
if true then thats a major disappointment. although aside from the gratuitous nudity and rape scenes, road warrior could have squeaked by a pg-13 rating. as i said it looks like they cleaned up this new movie. i guess the trailer was accurate.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this one. That trailer was pretty goddamn awesome, not gonna lie. I mean, it had a slow-motion fiery explosion of a car flying through the air, with a bolt of lightning, a sandstorm, and a tornado in the background. It's like if Michael Bay googled the word 'nihilism' and then snorted 10 lines of Bolivian marching powder.

Sucks about no R rating though. Maybe they'll release an unrated version later with the good stuff added?

Don't care, it has a truck covered in amps with a dude playing wasteland metal guitar that shoots fire. I'll see anything that has that.

for me the dealbreakers are no practical stunts and if this score is not in the film.Brian May wrote a masterpiece

I thought they where doing a decent bit of practical effects and stunts with the new one? Also each MadMax is actually very different from each other- most people slam thunderdome have never seen the 1st one and base everything off of road warrior. My theory is that the apocalypse happened in between 1 and 2 - as the intro to 2 is when it is stated it happened- 1 just kinda is a "land of lawlessness on the edge of civilization" and yes- so many vibes of "ohh that dude is ganna rape her and that kid....oh he is gay...he wants to rape max and just torture the wife and kid--wow...jacked up"

I don't understand. This isn't a theory. It's correct.

No Borderlands players in here who felt that half the footage reminded them of Bordrelands trailers and intro movies?

I never played it, but from what I saw, it looked like borderlands was basically designed with the road warrior in mind. So, no big surprise.

The reason the timeline is ambiguous is because the movies after Mad Max are legends being told years later. Note the narrator of 2/3 isn't Max and his fate is left unknown. It's a convenient way of waving away continuity concerns, or questions like "why is the gyro guy in two different movies but he's two different characters I don't even what?" That's how they can set a sequel that's "somewhere between 1-3" without really caring much. Heck there's supposed to be like 10 years between 1-2 and another 20 between 2-3, there's tons of room for ambiguously placed sequels.

I mean, Fury Road should be before Road Warrior because he has the Pursuit Special with the modifications we saw in RW... but Miller can always play the "lol, unreliable narrator" card.

And we don't get Mad Max 4: Beyond Beyond Thunderdome because the marauders have mostly died off or become "civilized" in places like Bartertown.
Leave the poor guy alone, he's done.

Anyway, this trailer looked like liked more of the Indiana Jones slapstick from Thunderdome. Maybe it was the goofy music.
