The more interesting question is if they jump back 20-25 years, how does time coincide with the apocalypse and Mad Max? I don't really know my Max lore, but he was around when civilization collapsed in the first Max so it might be half of a "apocalypse starts" movie, this time from Furiosa's perspective.

i'm not a fan of prequels, we already know she won't die, any friends/kids she has in the movie WILL die, and she loses her arm, so a lot of mystery is gone. Still, George Miller has gotten a lot of good will and trust from me with Fury Road so hopefully he can deliver. His directing credits are nuts, he did Babe 2 in 98, Happy Feet 1 & 2 a few years later, Mad Max Fury Road 4 years later, and i don't think he's worked on anything else since.

Yeah, prequels always suck. Not excited to hear that. But, George Miller. so idk, I can only assume that whatever I expect from him would likely be wrong.

But I'm down for more Mad Max films. Mad Max 2 ( Road Warrior ) and Fury Road count as 2 of my all time favourite movies.

Preludes do suck. It kinda kills he Mad Max mystique where he's the everyman telling tales of the desert.

Buuuuuut.... Maybe he just wants to do crazy car shit somewhere besides out in the desert. You know, have buildings and stuff.

And I'm perfectly fine with Furiosa being some sort of female insert, the way max is.

Has this come up before? Serious dejavu.

I'm pretty sure he first mentioned wanting to do a Furiosa prequel way back when Fury Road came out, then there was all that shit between the director and Warner Brothers that happened and the project seemed to kind of cool off.

i watched it a few years ago. from what I remember, the Chrome version is also a silent movie, only the score and maybe the audio effects are heard, not sure about the latter

it works really well when the cinematography is sweeping (large wide shots where contrast is clearly seen without the screen being busy with action or quick cuts). Like scenes where they drive into the sandstorm, and some of the scenes when they reach The Green Place and the Vuvalini women. Probably the most iconic shot from that version is when Furiosa staggers into the sand after finding out there is no green place, drops to her knees and howls at the sky

But its not great for action, scenes are a bit more difficult to make out and they dont look good in black and white

It made me realize that one of the best parts about this movie is the extremely bright color palette that they use for reds and yellows, the saturation of those colors takes that movie to another level
