[Manga] Naruto (warning: spoilers up to current chapter)

There's no TV thread for the show, and I need to vent. I don't read the manga, so I shamelessly haven't read any recent posts in the hopes of avoiding spoilers. My apologies if this has been brought up, but holy fucking hell are they doubling down on the filler or what?! The last time we actually had plot progression it was several straight weeks of the Great Ninja War and a cliffhanger (melodramatic though it may be) of Naruto dying from having Kurama ripped out of him.

Now we're on like month 6 of the fucking Chunin exams? Fucking seriously?? I've about reached my limit and will just catch up in a couple years when I skip past the 50 episode stretches of filler.

Yeah I gave up watching the anime a long time ago because of filler bullshit. They are just trying to stretch it as much as possible.

I stopped just pre-shippuden when they stretched out the episodes by regurgitating the situation over and over again, explaining every single small detail, and speaking extremely slowly. A few minutes of anime = 2-3 panels in manga.

Math isn't my strong suit, but 394-410 (and at least 411 since the preview showed the plot to assassinate Gaara is finally launching) is 16 episodes. At 1 episode a week and 52 weeks a year, we've literally had 4 months of this shit. Fuck.

I feel like all the adults have to die or the kids need a huge powerup for me to give a shit about them. Is this a real continuation or just a money grab or what?

Not sure, I tried watching 'Bonds' but got really pissed about 2 minutes into it when ninjas had jetpacks and were getting shot out of aircraft carriers. In short, fuck the movies.

There is the mix of hard technology in some of the episodes. Look at all the medical equipment bullshit in some of the scenes too. It's always been odd to me.

They do have cell phones and shit in the new chapters but it was really off putting to see aircraft carrier size ships when leaf village doesn't even have cars.

they mentioned that the anime is suppose to just continue, so they'll probably pull a simpsons and go on the air another 20 years

I'll look forward to it. Inevitable 'powerdown' of the Naruto/Sasuke or inescapable plot no jutsu will be droll though. However kids running around mirroring the Naruto chapters 20-100 will be fun.

Yeah we'll see. Naruto/Sasuke in chapters 20-100 was obviously a kid compared to the 3rd, Orochimaru, the legend of Madara etc, but you saw the promise of Naruto being an ultimate weapon and Sasuke being extremely skilled.

It'd take a tremendous amount of bullshit to believe anyone in the leaf village is anything but fodder next to Naruto or Sasuke now.
