Might be over in Manila for a week. Yes *sigh* just a week. What can one do if they have a few free hours to spare?

Apparently don't drive. It's one of those places where there are literally no traffic rules. Huge intersections with no traffic signs or lights. Just a complete free-for-all. I have a friend who just got back from there last week. He said it took four hours to drive 10 miles.

I spent a few weeks in the Philippines last summer(though only a couple days in Manila) and as Alex said, the traffic is a real experience. As for shit to do, we really only hung out in the Resorts World casinos/bars while in Manila and spent the majority of our trip in Cagayan de Oro and its surrounding areas, which has a ton of cool water falls, springs, islands, zip lines, etc.

This is correct. I did it and would not recommend.

Man I love me some zip lining, but I'm always afraid to do it on vacations outside of the US because I always feel like they don't have property safety protocol in place and I am going to die.

We did "the longest dual zipline in Asia" there and it was fucking awesome. Then I did one of the single ones and as I'm flying by, my foot hit the very top of a tree and the rest of that ride was scary as shit. Maybe at 6', all those short Filipinos didn't account for my feet!

You'll enjoy it! Pinoy people are great - spent a few months in boracay, bantayan, malapascua and Palawan and loved it.

I told my mom I'm headed to Philippines and she got all worried. Told me to watch out around the ocean in case there's a tsunami.

My mom miiiiiiight just be a crazy person.
