people just don't care about comic book movies without a huge nostalgia vibe anymore, the string of shitty superhero movies has destroyed all credibility for the genre. DP3 made a billy because it had Hugh Jackman as wolverine. They are banking on that again for Secret Wars, if it fails its over.

anyways

but also lol

I would not want a period piece 90s Blade reboot no matter who they got to write and star in it. Of course it has to be set in the Present.

I think the idea originally was a 30's one. All the wardrobe from Sinners was bought from the failed MCU Blade production.

We didn’t want to simply just put a leather outfit on him and have him start killing vampires. It had to be unique," Feige explained. "It fell into the time when we started pulling back and saying, 'Only accept insanely great.' And it wasn’t ‘insanely great’ at the time."

"We didn’t feel like, as we often do, you can have a good script and make it a great script through production. We didn’t feel confident that we could do that on 'Blade,' and we didn’t want to do that to Mahershala and didn’t want to do that to us."

so this last couple of years have been an age of "insanely great" scripts?

Yeah I'm sure it had nothing to do with Mahershala taking issue with the female side character taking over the movie and telling Feige it was garbage.

Mahershala was clear he wants a movie that can win himself awards for doing it, not for supporting cast.

So when Feige says "insanely great" he is referring to Mahershala's demand for an award-winning script. Feige acts like he's doing the quality control, when it's really been Mahershala demanding rewrite after rewrite.

That about sums up my thought process every time I watch The Marvels. And because of just how insanely great it is, I try to watch it at least once every weekend. Especially that singing world scene. Chef's kiss to that one. :emoji_kissing:🤌

I think the last marvel movie I watched was the doctor strange two thing and I don't remember what the hell happened. Why did I do it, don't remember. I have no burning desire to watch anything new coming from them, I'm not surprising because I saw most of the other movies in the theater with friends and what have you, and the endgame stuff was pretty amazing for a cinematic achievement, and I can honestly say I was happy I got to see them both in the theater.

None of this new stuff looks entertaining whatsoever.

The last thing to come out of rhe MCU that was funny was Wonger and Madisynn watching the Sopranos in the not very good She Hulk show.

Like anyone is going to take that moron seriously? Didn't they learn anything from Thanos -> Kang?

Hire a real actor, not some halfwit.

Don't see a thread for the movie, but I watched Venom: The Last Dance. Liked it more than the first two, was surprised at the level of heart it had compared to those. Still isn't really good or anything, but it made me want to see more.

That said, WTF is up with Knull? Dude is one of those big cosmic-level threats in the Marvelverse and they built him up a lot in this movie. Was Sony planning to do their own Avengers-type team-up movie, or have this plug into the MCU, or what? And isn't the Sony branch folding anyway?

If they were planning to continue their own ensemble team-up movie, I'm not sure what the plan was considering that
Venom dies at the end of this movie

Knull was pretty awesome though, after one movie I'm more interested in him than I am in Dr. Doom or Galactus. Wonder what the odds are that we'll actually get him in an Avengers movie. Probably low. We still don't even have a Darkseid movie from DC and I've been wanting that since I was like 8.

makes you wonder if they are already thinking doomsday and secret wars are gonna flop based on having no scripts and the insane costs. each movie is probably gonna cost over $600m to make, RDJ and the Russos are pulling gross percent out i think too, so they'd need to make like $1.5b+ each to even have a whiff of profit
