There were some great great things in MGS3, but I mostly remember it for having a ridiculously long timer for things to go back to normal after being noticed. It was so stupid that whenever possible I just ran to the next check point and died to quickly respawn a check point further and with no alert. A bit sad really. Also near the end there is the worst kind of escort mission: the one where the escorted lags behind shooting at the chasers instead of running with the player... That's typical of that era: all the devs played through the giant escort mission that is ICO and thought it was great, but none realized that the key thing is that you can grab Yorda's hand to force her movement, so you end up with stuff like that ending escort in MGS3 or similar things in The Getaway (aka The Get In The Fucking Car Before I Blow You Away).

If I remember it correctly, wasnt the person you were supposed to escort dying and constantly had to be force fed food too?

I seem to recall them becoming picky about eating things.

How does this game look this fucking fantastic and run as smooth as it does. The intro was amazing #ratherbehomeplayingMGSV.

They had MGS GZ out for like two years to give them plenty of time to work out the kinks, basically.

On every system not Nintendo brands, at that.

And played the tutorial and first Afghan mission of this this morning as well, and it is amazing.

Its Red Dead Metal Gear: Stealth Wild West Action Adventure: The Game: The Movie: The Orgasm

My one complaint is that during the controls familiarization bit with the doctor, it inverted my camera while he was telling me to look up. And then it took me googling to figure out where the option to turn that pointless shit back off after 10 more minutes of cutscenes.

The options menu in this game is a pain in the ass to navigate on the PC since the mouse is completely non functional outside of aiming in game.

PC. Also, as far as I can tell its either locked at 60fps or 30fps(via a menu option).
Definitely locked to 60fps that cannot be disabled in game. Evga overlay is just pegged at 60fps with 30-60% gpu usage. Maxed everything and it looks fantastic.

Watched someone play through the hospital part with the fire guy last night on Twitch and it looked like 100% Kojima crazy awesomeness.

I've seen "spoilers" but I don't know how accurate they are and I'm not going to bother repeating them here.

The only thing I will say is expect to be rused, because, regardless if the particulars of the spoilers I've seen are true, or not, there is certainly some grade A rusin' a going down.

It should be a fantastic ride.

I cannot wait to play this when I get home - picked it up this morning from Best Buy.

When I found out that I should make sure I capture/recruit a Russian solder because then I will actually be able to understand the Russian Solders I interrogate? Otherwise the shit will be all Russian and I won't understand a thing?

After so many shitty PC ports of triple A games I've become a little gunshy about buying them day 1. I'm a huge MGS fan anyone here have any experience with the PC port? How is it?

The PS4 version being 60fps makes it much more palatable to me. I still have some time to decide while I play through Sons of the Patriots.
