The community at large. The decency law in Russia passed with ZERO votes against it, it was unanimously adapted and it is supported by 80-90% of the population. The Russian community has a right to establish what is considered decent for their people just like any other country. Gay movies are not being censored, nor are gay books, gay plays, or anything gay really. What is being asked of people is to retain a modicum of decency in the commonly shared public space.

It seems like what you are advocating is total moral anarchy and a "do what you feel" society

So again, I'll ask the question. How do you rationally regulate the media in a free society? Who decides what's acceptable and what's not acceptable?

What I am saying is that it's the parent's right to decide when to have that talk, how to have it and in what context to have it. That's a parent's right. Not some homosexual activist's right.

Or maybe he just recognizes the impossibility of devising a system of deciding who is not equipped to make such decisions that doesn't also produce injustice. That impossibility is well demonstrated by history.

Im just asking how the hell do you legislate censorship rationally? That's all. Give me an example where it's worked and hasn't been twisted and corrupted to favor the views of whoever is in charge at the time.

So this is completely feasible in a plethora of fields, just not mass media? It cannot be regulated it a better standard?

Public broadcasting seems to be pretty decent and I'm sure they must submit lengthy reports to get funding for certain projects.

Well, we were discussing the Russian community. But if you want to switch to an entirely different community and an entirely different subject, I can play that game for a while.

The American people at large disagree with the Republicans. The reason the shutdown is even happening is because a small rogue group of legislators has hijacked the democratic process. The community at large does not condone their methods or their principles.
