The Revolution exists solely as a means to install dictatorships. It can accomplish no other end. The very act of the Revolution sows the seeds for its eventual demise. This is the hard, cold truth Mikhail and Dumar simply cannot acknowledge, because they are willing pawns, malicious willful actors in a farce meant to obfuscate history and reality in order to better enable the eventual rise of the Dictatorship. Now I will tell you the answer to my question. It is this. The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end.One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now you begin to understand me."
Meat, potatoes and corn, the 3 staples of a true american diet, and yet you are strangely against 2 of them. I bet you are a closet vegetarian.I'm going to stay inside and enjoy a potato, thank you though.
If you owned enough land to actually farm, you were most definitely not the peasantry.Yeah, what would the peasants know about farming. They've only been doing it for 10,000 years.
You have to understand, Comrade, your father did not earn any of this. His privilege as a white male allowed him the opportunity to receive an education. His status as the son of land owners allowed him the privilege of inheriting that land. He may have scrimped and saved, but that was only possible because he was benefitting directly from the savage foundation of this nation, the mass extermination of millions of indigenous peoples who lands were stripped from them, stolen away, replaced with smallpox ridden blankets and forced marches to reservations.Serious question:
So my father owns about 1k acres of farmland. He started with 10 acres of family land that he had from when his father and mother died when he was a teenager. He worked as a civil engineer for 30 years, saving every last bit of money he had. He lived like a pauper basically, only spending any money the 2 years he was married to my mother. Ended up buying 200 acres with his savings, then expanded it 10 years later and then 10 years after that to what he has now. He has hired people to farm it now that he is older, but he spends every day going around that land, driving around in his 4wheeler. The most fun thing in the world for him is just going around it, his pride in getting that legacy is to pass on to me is his everlasting joy.
How are you going to distribute that land from people like that? You think every farmer is going to willingly give it up? He would die for that land now. I would to. I would pack up from my classroom and head right there at a moments notice. I just don't see a way to get people off land like that without a violent revolution. Good luck with that in a country with this many guns. People like my father are the ones with the arsenal.
