Hard to believe that the top three teams in the NL in terms of record are all in the NL Central.

The difference is, the Rangers could go 162-0 and sweep the playoffs and the World Series and all you would be able to do is bitch about Washington's bullpen usage during mop up duty from a game in June against Houston.

I am a Ranger fan and I don't bitch about Wash. With the recent 4 years of massive success, even with the World Series losses and how the team failed at the end of the last year, I will take all that after the 35+ years of complete mediocrity and suckage.

Even after the crushing defeat of being one strike away from winning the Series... TWICE, the next year Wash had them playing great baseball to start off.

And with how they failed so hard at the end of the year last year, a quarter fo the way through the season and we have the best record. Wash has does an amazing job. Would I change come decision, yes. But Yankee fans would question Joe Torre in his prime as well, not that I am comparing Wash and Torre, just that people love to bitch about anything, even then things are good.

Wasn't a true fan until 2010 (as admitted and documented over at FOH) but I am liking how this organization is run at the moment. Go into season with 2 starters coming back from season ending injuries in 2012. During season lose your 18-game winner from last year, though he will be back. Lose one staple of the last 10 years of the team, and a former AL MVP in the offseason. And have the best record in Baseball a quarter of the way through the season. So, yay.

Remember in '97 when the Buccos finished in second with a sub-.500 record and were in first with like 2 weeks to go while still under .500?

Really does feel odd having the division just begoodafter years of it being St. Louis and the scrubs, with an occasional appearance by everyone but the Pirates.


And yes, I really do want the streak over. We took it from Philly and buried it under 3 more entire fucking seasons. My friend's kid was born right around the time it started, she's close to graduating from college and will be legally allowed to drink before the season is over.


edit: I am not a good or big baseball fan, I haven't watched more than 15-20 games most seasons in probably 10 years. But it's just a lot easier to give a shit when the games occasionally matter.

All of the local interleague rivalries taking place at the same time was a good move for the MLB. I'm sure this has caused more revenue generation during one week of the season than normal. I've certainly watched more games this week because of it. Then again, I tend to be a pretty big baseball fan as it is.

And now the three best records in all of baseball are in the NL Central. I really hope this doesn't keep up. Nothing I would hate more than to finish with around 100 wins and still have to play that shit ass one-loss elimination game.

Sox/Yanks shitting themselves in dugouts tonight.

Great call delaying start of game for 50 minutes with not a drop of rain coming down, finally start the game, get to the sixth and the heavens open up. Followed by an even more brilliant move. Rain slows down a bit, they pull the tarp even though the radar was lit up like a Christmas tree all the way down to South Jersey headed that way. They played again for literally 4 minutes before tarp was back out.

Cards need to start losing some games. I'm tired of watching the Reds own shit to still be 2.5 games behind.

What is up with the Angels? Is the pitching the cause of their awfulness? Getting swept by the Astros in a four game series is serious business. That team is so fucking bad. The A's have swept the Astros three times this season already - they haven't lost a single game.

The Braun inclusion makes me smile. When you don't even try to defend the validity of a failed test but attack the character of the courier (who only followed his company's policy which was slightly different than MLB's policy) on procedural that makes me doubly satisfied. That courier's reputation and character was destroyed via the appeals process. While we can't verify if the sample was truly tampered with with this latest information on Biogenesis the shit just adds up. Fuck you, Braun. Man up and at least apologize.
