Was hoping the Royals would have an outside shot at re-signing Ervin Santana. Looks like he is asking for 5 years $100 mil. That's WAY out of our price range :/ Good luck to whatever team gives him 5 years, that's crazy with his inconsistent history

Reds will likely trade away Brandon Phillips. I hope they don't, but Bob Castellini is a pussy who only wants boring people on his team.

I'm really interested in what Houston is going to do. I mean, they were obviously a huge clusterfuck last year, but hell, they can't get much worse. Management is talking about raising payroll by some 40-50m dollars. They got 2 pretty good pitchers that came up from the minors last year, with George Springer hopefully starting next year, with Jonathan Singleton to follow. Rumor is that they are going to go hard after Shin-Soo Choo.

Thanks Marlins for taking Jimmy Paredes off our hands!

THE PIRATES HAVE AN MVP CALIBER PLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Both non-Cutch 1st place votes went to Molina. Both from St. Louis Post Dispatch writers.

Cutch was the NL MVP no doubt. An argument could be given for Kershaw, but pitchers get the Cy Young.

I disagree with McCutchen being a nearly unanimous MVP winner with him being beaten is so many offensive categories by Goldschmidt.

Goldschmidt was so valuable that it you took him off the D'Backs they probably wouldn't have made the playoffs.

With that thought process, Trout shouldn't have gotten any 1st place this year, or last year either? What about Braun's 2011 MVP over Matt Kemp, who damn near went 40/40? Fuck man he didn't make the playoffs, he can't possibly get any 1st place votes.

WAR!!!

Really though, between Cutch's playing CF(1B = NL DH) and winning the Sabermetric stuff slightly, and being a better baserunner the stats are at worst a wash. Add in the perception that he lead a team out of a 20 YEAR losing streak and in to the playoffs and Goldschmidt never stood a chance.

Come on man, unanimous though?

I assume you mean that 1b = DH means that the best NL hitting player per NL team( that may be on the fringe of being a defensive liability is manning 1b). Otherwise, I profoundly disagree with you now.

McCutchen's WAR was significantly higher than his, I'm not sure what argument you can bring into it that's going to trump that.

So are you shifting your argument to someone else now? Cutch was the clear winner and there was no question about it, get over it dude.

No it was sarcasm, but also pointing out that having the best WAR in your league does not translate to being MVP to the BBWA.
