it's always better to stop the fight late than stop the fight early

Agree to disagree.

No one wants to be the ref that let the guy die in the cage.

Any fighters on these main card fights in the UFC will have more chances. Think Lawler–Askren was an early stop? He'll have an opportunity to earn his way back up to the top. Think Ladd got saved by the referee? She'll get more chances to make a run at the belt. Think TJ–Cejudo was called early? Those guys, if they had kept winning, would meet again.

Yes, it's a cagefight, but the referee is there to protect the fighters. If you want a bloodsport, find some underground cockfighting ring.

This is also ignoring the politics behind state athletic commissions, sanctioning bodies, and the $$$ fallout if something bad happens in the cage. An early stoppage is always better than a late one because you don't take chances with people's lives.

That should be a fun fight. I think Cowboy is too technical for Gaethje though, and should school him.

lulz all these fatti8es and it's the cunt that misses weight

Only one fighter, Jennifer Maia, failed to hit their mark on the scale. The Brazilian came in at 129 pounds, three pounds over the flyweight limit, for her bout with Roxanne Modafferi. MMA Junkie subsequently confirmed that Maia would forfeit 30% of her fight purse to Modafferi and the bout will go ahead as planned.

How much longer is Ben going to last in the UFC?

MMA news: Tito thinking he could do better against JJ than Cormier was weird. Him then apologizing to both was even weirder, LOL.

Mayhem Miller going to prison for a year is kind of LOL, I guess

She said Jones then placed her down by the bar and smacked her in her genital region. The woman said she told Jones twice he couldn't smack her there unless he paid her $100. She said Jones "continued to touch her until he decided to leave the establishment."
