Can you be more vague? all the fighters i know at 60 liked the changes, it's a little bad in pvp because it's hard to proc stacks but otherwise it's basically the same 2 hand damage but their sword and board improved a lot

I mean I was trying to not write a massive breakdown of the class but sure.

Really hope you aren't talking about the class as "viable" purely from a PVP stance though..

---

My bar-layout is:

Feint, Shield Bash, Rend, Juggernaut, Taunt, Kick, Battle Cry (Str), Unnerving Shout (Damage Reduction), FLOAT ABILITY, Defensive.

Shield Block and Shield Bash being on the same CD is a dumb fuckin thing. I get to choose between generating agro or a 350 point-5second shield vs mobs that hit like this:
1786455332993.png

that was done in about 1-2 seconds of combat.

Juggernaut is useful but the amount of dancing I gotta do to get it functioning right is dumb. They need to reduce the min distance and increase the max distance of the charge so you aren't put in a place of fucking your group in close quarter combat. Constantly being spammed with "target too far" then suddenly switching to "Target is too close" because apparently it calculates distance based on the navmesh path and not mob linear distance is fucking maddening especially in places like Grimtide where there is random clutter on the floor that causes "distance" to increase and decrease randomly.

They need to add threat generation beyond damage to all their debuffs, it's dumb as shit to Feint and reduce a mobs AGI by 20 and then have someone immediately pull threat because it wasn't a rend or a shield bash. Likewise, armor shred should come with threat and the 5% phys damage reduction shout should come with threat.

Whatever their "threat shot" is called needs to be on a 1 second wind-up not a fucking 3 second wind up. Follow the same rules as "Shoot" I'll give ground on this one and say 1-2 seconds MAX wind up, anything more is dumb, mobs get to camp before my fuckin shot goes off. Anyone saying "Use it to pull" sure, yeah you can do that...you better have CC in your group because fighters rank right up there with facepulling a room on a 0 CC class.

Second wind will be"interesting" when it gets fixed out but 250 point heal (before scaling) every 30s isn't going to do much when I have 3500 health (level 56) and get hit like the above.

Didn't even buy the new stance because of how pointless it is, 90% of this game is fighting blue mobs (outside of leveling...) and, on the rare chance you are fighting higher level mobs in late game that out-pace you...most groups have a dispeller and multiple interrupters. Stance is a pure PvP ability outside of some single use cases that we all know they will be inspired to do after making the ability.

Hope that was detailed enough.

People just like to complain. Game is still great, but will never live up to whatever standard some people have in their minds.

Kind of amazing and sad that people will write it off over so little. I guess keep waiting for that magical mmo that will never come, or enjoy what we have with the limited amount of time we get together.

For those of you that do play at launch I look forward to the great memories and the bad.

Game is FAR from great but you do you Heko..Shit it didn't even compete against EQ legends.

When your competition is a 30 year old games re-released TLP's and "Emulator" quality servers...I dunno man, I think my standards are pretty okay,

You underestimate the “artistic” peoples drive for “uniqueness” if left without a “normie” to drive and guide their “creativeness”

You sound like a nerd that's mad about nothing.

Ranger and SK are my favorite 2 EQ classes. But the way they functioned in Classic EQ is lame as fuck. Hopefully they take more of the approach that CoA Ascension did with Harvest spec Reapers and Rangers, they'd have to be powered down but thematically it's way better than the unispired trash in Classic EQ.

maybe split the timer but what's the problem here? you chose a boss named, the hardest ones in the game more or less pre raid (55+ named giants) that's also a spellblade npc that proc'd twice that also is well within your hp pool to be healed easily and if you're on discord you could pop the cooldown to help buy time for a heal, i don't really see what the issue is here, don't you have defensive stance, rage stacks, self heal ect, you have tools to deal with this guy

I'm not here to argue that as I don't see it as a contest, I just want to have some laughs and adventures with the boys. Maybe fall off a few cliffs as a human in the dark. All the classics, all the hits.

I mean really, I'm ranting for sure.

I think the thing that bothers me so much is I see the potential and it's wild to me that they are stumbling on the same places as the people before them without any acknowledgement of the possible steps to avoid dealing with the issues they are dealing with.

Spoilered my rant this time.

don't you have defensive stance
Yep

rage stacks
Pointless as I said above

self heal
Broken as I said above.

you have tools to deal with this guy
I had tools before the change too, we still killed it too.

My point is that these changes lack forethought / good reasoning (gave examples above); the changes (ignoring the bugged ones) are all clunky and feel odd to use.

That's cool and I get it...it's (my static) the ONLY reason I'm still playing this shit show; the game is boring. To me, it's wild that the sole reason to play the game is other people and not the actual fucking game.

I don't camp Hovarth because it's a fun camp to do with my static, I camp it because it's the only place to get the best haste belt.

I don't camp upper samsung because it's engaging, I camp it because it's some of the best loot in the game.

Dungeons like Grimtide are a slog with buggy encounters like the zealots where you have to pray that no one fucks up the encounter as they move through the dungeon.

Glinting is a place filled with unitemized B-tier shit (unless it's like I suspect and a PoSky-esque zone where drops are step 1 and the final goods are decent) that requires keying every floor.

Sunken Resort was interesting but...tell me...any of you going there in the right level bracket? because that zone is gunna be a pain in the ass to CR.

The Deep COULD be good (if it solves the problem of spreading out some of the contested camps that will be a nightmare on release with 4-6000 people playing on one of 3ish servers.)

All this said with the underlying past few years of development where:

Night Harbor continues to be a shit-show

Classes are in their v.5 reworks (a month and change before EA and we are all paying for the pleasure to test) after they legit copy-pasted EQ's classes from lucy

Combat balance has been a constant road to TTK where TTK keeps changing because they can't decide on if the game should be "Sandwich-ie" or challenging.

they're going to be in ea a long time and are going to tweak each class multiple times before launch, you can't even take the current state to be anything resembling finished.

also their philosophy is to just push content and fix it later, if it seems like that it's because that is what it is.

also again all this stuff is not that polished basically because they don't want to be sued by daybreak for monetizing an eq clone and need to seperate themselves before they start collecting money.

I thought about it and they'll probably try to push out the rest of the class rebalances before ea (though they are running out of time)

they consider you free testers and this is not a finished product and they think you shouldn't really complain except in bug reports or forumn suggestions which do have an effect btw

I think really their strat is to wait out EQ Legends which they probably hope will burnout in a year.

Thats another hitch I have, we are free testers now and in a couple months we will be PAYING testers.

Also I'm well aware of the state of the game but it was THIER choice to call it a beta and not an alpha, all in order to squeeze it between EA so EA can be considered a product worth paying for and to lessen the effect of the state of the game and shelling out 15 a month for a product that can be called "ALPHA" at best (alpha since many core systems aren't even in place.)

is what it is, bunch of part timers working for free on slack channels after work, they're trying to sail the ship and create something sustainable instead of it crashing and dying.

how long was bg3 in ea for?

I dunno if you wanna compare BG3 to MNM. 60 dollars (4 months) is barely gunna touch how much the charge is gunna be for 2ish years of EA time, imagine paying 360 USD for Baldurs gate, because thats the value prop MNM is shooting for.

I mean, how many MMO's went the route of paid EA successfully?

Albion Online is doing well, but is super cash-shop heavy.

Thats the only one I have on the top of my mind.
